I love diatomaceous earth drying mats, so I thought I'd give this one a try. It was misshapen out of the box but settled flat in a day--however, every time I unroll it, it takes a little while to flatten out again. This one also stained a little bit after the first use. It does come with a sanding paper to get the stain out, but this is the first one I've had that needs to be sanded so quickly.
It comes ‘folded’ in a box. So, right out of the box, it isn’t sitting flat on the surface of my countertop. I’m hoping it will relax as it sits for a while. ***UPDATE: After sitting overnight, it did relax and now sits perfectly flat on my countertop *** It is a nice design; I like the way it looks on my countertop. It’s pretty in its oval shape, although I would have liked it squared to give more room for dish drying.I wiped it down with a wet paper towel, and it was drying as soon as the water hit it! It is super quick drying and absorbent. Literally seconds to absorb the water from a freshly washed cup. I like the fact that it is foldable so it can be neatly put away when not in use. You do need something under it to keep it from sliding around though & they provide a mesh anti-slip mat to put underneath. They also provided a small round piece of sandpaper to use if/when the stone gets stained.Its versatility plays to its cost; it can be used in the kitchen, bathroom, under a plant to absorb water drainage, under your fur babies water bowl. I don’t know if I would use it as a bathmat only because I like the soft rug under my feet, not the hard surface of this mat but it certainly could be used for that as well!
