Great Thermos! Hot stays really hot!!! Even after 12 hours!

This came and I used it right away. I heat up a huge pot of tea, but keep having to heat it up throughout the day wasting energy. I decided to try this thermos. I would boil water with infused tea around noon and at 8 pm at night, it is still almost boiling temperature and was way too hot to drink. So, it does keep liquids very hot, hot! I love it. You do need to wash it out, but I dont like using detergent, either wash with salt or vinegar. Otherwise the soap lingers in thermos and then all of your drinks start to taste like detergent.The strap is a good idea, but a little awkward. The thermos is heavy but you can use it with one hand no problem. the open for pouring mechanism escaped me on how to use, but eventually I got it. It does have a venting hole so when you're pouring the hot water does not splash back up on you. The material is durable and well made. I love it for the price. I will be able to use it for long road trips as well.

I'm impressed

I read the reviews on this thermos and decided to do my own experiment. I used a digital thermometer and water that was boiled to 210 degrees F. I measured the temperature every 2 hours. This is what I found.At the start of the test the water was 210° FAt 2 hours 195° FAt 4 hours 185° FAt 4 hours I turned the thermos upside down to test for leaksAt 6 hours 178° F no leaks after 2 hoursAt 8 hours 168° F no leaks after 4 hoursAt 10 hours 156°F no leaks after 6 hoursI only did 10 hours since my shifts don't last much more than that.I'd say the coffee would start out very hot (burn your tongue hot) and after about 6 hours will be just hot coffee but enjoyable. From 6 to 8 hours it'll cool to lukewarm but warm enough to still drink. After 8 it really starts to cool off. The nice part was that after 6 hours inverted there were no leaks.When taking the lids off and on they turned easily, and even though I tried to cross thread them, the way it's threaded I couldn't "accidentally" cause a cross threading to force a leak.My conclusion, is that up to 8 hours you'll enjoy hot coffee, after 8 the liquid will cool off to a lukewarm cup of coffee. Overall, not too bad.I'd recommend this thermos, just know that 8 to 10 hours is pretty much the limit.For more info on my "test" it was done inside a room that was 65° F. The cooling would probably be a little faster if the bottle was in a car during the winter.

Keeps my coffee pretty hot for Atleast 6 hours. I preheat the inside with hot water before filling. It will cool faster if I don’t. Haven’t tried during the winter yet though. I do recommend.

MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS. FLASK BURST OPEN WHEN PUT IN THE SUN , LID POPS OPEN IN PIECES

ON PAPER ITS GREAT BECAUSE OF ITS ADDITIONAL CAPACITY SO I PURCHASED 8 UNITS AND HAD THEM COURIERES TO ZIMBABWE ONLY TO FIND THEY ARE A DESIGN MESS AND ONE ALREADY IS TRASH.After 4 months ownership boiling water at 100 Centigrade 9 hours later is only 52 degrees Centigrade.Most heat loss is from the cap which needs a redesign as it HAS NO INSULATION. I have 9 of these and am furious.I USE FLASKS FOR HOT TEA & COFFEE, COLD BEER AND OCCASIONALLY FOR MAKING YOGHURT WHERE IT HAS TO BE KEPT WARM FOR 6 HOURS BETWEEN 37 AND 40 CENTIGRADE.WHEN MAKING YOGHURT AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS AS IT WAS COOL INSIDE I PUT IT IN THE SUN FOR AN HOUR ONLY TO SEE IT OOZING MILK FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE FLASK !! THE BLACK THIN PLASTIC SHELL HAD POPPED AS PER THE PICTURE AND WHEN POPPED BACK ALL WAS STILL NOT OK AS THE LID WAS INEXPLICABLY NOW LOOSE. WHEN USED FOR BEER AS A GROWLER THE LID DIDN'T WANT TO SNAP EASILY OPEN AS THE RUBBER INSIDE (BROWN PIECE IN SECOND PHOTO) MUST HAVE STUCK TO ITSELF AND WHEN THE LID OPENED A SPRING POPPED OUT AND DISAPPEARED. SO END OF THE CAP:<( HENCE MY REMAINING SEVEN FLASKS ARE TAPED UP TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.BOTTOM LINE ...THE LIDS NEED REPLACING WITH SIMPLE STOPPERS THAT ARE LESS LIKELY TO LEAK AND THE BLACK PLASTIC. NEEDS TO BE WHITE OR SILVER OR AT LEAST A NON ABSORBANT COLOUR
