I have wanted a wooden cutting board for a long time and this one is great with the handles and "juice catcher" around the board. I bought it because it was large but you should be serious about cooking as it is heavy and is best if you have a lot of vegetables, (onions, potatoes) etc. to cut at one time. I am a little disappointed that it does show knife marks a little easier than I thought it would but it made well, attractive in color and heavy so it does not slip. You should have a good size sink as it is heavy and you will need to lean it in the sink to clean properly

For the few, it's perfect.

Heavy, bulky, prone to showing knife cuts, but oh so good at what it's supposed to do ... take abuse and carry on.It is, after all a platform for cutting, chopping, tenderizing and otherwise abusing various items we intend to eat. Any board which manages to come out the other side of that sort of abuse looking chipper is probably destroying your knives. Sharp edges can only remain sharp when faced with forgiving cutting surfaces.Granted, I've only used mine for a couple of months, but it's tolerated everything I've thrown at it with dignity. Yes, it's scarred, but 20 oz butchers cleavers will do that. I do save the other side (with the dished cutout) for more lightweight veggie use, and it's pretty much scar free. So much for cosmetics.This is a premo choice in the world of heavier home kitchen cutting boards. It's the next best thing to the butcher's block table.Highly recommended to the right crowd.
