I'm a gadget guy. Love just about anything that makes my life easier. Plus I LOVE to cook and love to bake apples, but I don't like taking the seeds out the apple before baking. I was using a small pairing knife that has nicked me several times, not fun.Saw this item and thought I'd give it a try. Really surprised at how sturdy and well made both items were. The actual corer is plenty sharp to drive into the apple center to remove the core and seeds. AND this corer has a spring loaded handle that when pressed opens up the tool and the just-cut core falls out. No need to poke or pull the core out, just open with the handle and the core fall out. You really cannot get much easier than that, and this tool makes it happen effortlessly.Using the multi-blade slicer takes a little bit more pressure as you're cutting the apple in many slices. A bonus for me is also using it to slice or open up an onion, like the Bloomin' Onion that a restaurant offers. Works great.I'm leaving this apple corer and slicer on the counter top next to the bag of apples and onions.This particular item is better made than most I've seen in the stores. I figure that with a little care it will last and work for years to come.Very pleased with this apple corer and slicer.
