heavy duty but doesn't spin as easily as I expected

The lazy susan hardware is definitely heavy-duty. It doesn't seem to spin as easily as I expected, as I have trouble with it pushing away when I try to spin it. The product description states that it has silicon grippers to prevent slippage, but the grippers feel like hard plastic that don't seem to be gripping. Also, the silver paint is chipping off on my hands when I handle it. The unit is very quiet.

Perfect.

I wanted a lazy susan setup for painting so I didn't have to keep lifting the tape and repositioning the watercolor paper when I wanted to focus on a different area. But the size I needed was just too pricey for what I could afford. I have two 16" cake boards I hadn't used yet, so I layered a piece of heavy glass between them and glued it all together for even more strength and weight and this is PERFECT for that. I initially tried it with just the cake boards, but there wasn't enough weight to get it going. Adding the heavy glass in the center did the trick.

Very practical and simple, heavy duty lazy susan turntable hardware

I have a heavy metal tray that I used to try out the mechanism of this Lazy Susan Turntable hardware. It's quite a solid piece of metal and this lazy susan feels like it could hold a lot more. It's definitely heavy duty as claimed.One thing I like about this swivel hardware is that you can turn it easily to whatever position you want, but it doesn't spin freely, you can't give it a shove and send it spinning away, subjecting anything on it to unstable centrifugal forces.I think that's a good feature and actually makes it more functional and practical than if you could make it spin like a flywheel.It will take the position you give it, it won't slowly rotate away from the way that you set it.My intended use for this is under a plant, to be able to easily adjust it 360 degrees so that it grows in a symmetrical way, evenly in the window, and doesn't get unbalanced because it's growing toward the light all the time in only one direction.
