Fancy, elegant silver with a nice heft and good looking enough for a holiday meal
I’m a big fan of quality silverware and always maintained a set of stylish, yet minimalist silverware with a second set for casual use (i.e., for the person who snarffs up peanut butter by the spoonful that lives here and isn’t typing this review, or the person who - against house rules - eats in their study and forgets to bring the silver back for a while- or a long while - and still isn’t typing this review) It’s easier to replace elements of a non-priority set of tableware even if it can’t be matched downline. However, I have a high-class problem here in that this is quite nice, with its own heft and sturdiness that makes a nice rotation with my silverware that was bought when I furnished my kitchen to go with everything. So does this. It washes beautifully, has all the durability of a good set of stainless steel and the pieces are my kind of style – minimal so the focus can be on the entirety of the table (especially the actual meal and dishes they’re served on). I have several sets of dishware (for variety – I grew up in a home that only had one set of dishes and silver that was replaced whenever something went wrong; as an adult, I craved some variety), several linens that complement everything and these have found their way to the dinner table frequently. They’re quite lovely and minimalist. Lennox has always been a quality name and these pieces more than live up its reputation. Since I don’t know what it takes to get most of my orders here within a day or two of ordering, I will say, this took more than a month to get here; I say this merely as a consideration, since I wasn’t in a hurry and was merely happy to get them when they finally got here. I would say, just for safety’s sake, that if you need them tomorrow, it’s possible you won’t get them by then. When they do arrive, I think you will be very glad.

Smooth, Shiny, Fancy
This is a very high quality but simple set of 12 forks + knives + spoons. Each piece looks and feels expensive, and fancy for a few main reasons. The metal finish on these utencils is so smooth that it makes the metal feel soft and pleasing to the touch, with perfectly rounded edges. The pieces are all super shiny and they almost sparkle under direct light, making them look much nicer than dull standard ones. The weight on each knife, fork, and spoon is hefty and the weight makes it feel like a high end piece, they are slightly thicker than standard silverware. The spoon is small, great for desserts, appetizers, and any small dish, but not a great option for soups or main courses. The fork has elongated tines and points which make it perfect for salads, slices of meat, and anything else that needs to be picked up, pierced etc.The knife blade is half smooth and half serrated so it can work for bread, butter, and soft meats and vegetables. This set is good for basic or casual meals, but not for a full table setting. What I dislike about this set is the weight distribution and center of gravity for the pieces.I prefer for the weight to be dead center of the fork/spoon/knife, or closer to the point/blade/tip side, but these pieces have a higher center of gravity more towards the handles. This leads to more sway, making them more likely to fall off the plate or bowl, and less likely to stay put. This has already happened to me several times.

Quality flatware with simple yet stylish design
This set of Lenox flatware is excellent in form and function. The overall design is simple, but still exudes a stylish look in its simplicity. The weight of each piece is just right - each utensil feels solid but not heavy, and you can definitely tell the difference between the quality between this set and the cheaper, lighter flatware sets.I'm no expert in metals, but I have eyeballs and I can tell a massive difference between the look of the 18/10 steel in these utensils versus the look of the cheap set my son took off to college when he left. Out of the box each of the Lenox pieces are shiny, crisp, and clean with almost a mirror finish. My understanding is the 18/10 steel is supposed to be some of the most rust resistant stainless steel made, and this set certainly looks the part.Looks are great, but how's the performance? Well, it seems silly to say that a fork works or a spoon works, I mean, they all technically 'work'. But again, the weight of these just feels better than the inferior set of flatware we were using previously. Unfortunately the Lenox pieces do not make my cooking taste any better, but the form and function is top notch, even if my grilling isn't. With enough pieces for 12 place settings, this is a great set for large families - or for small families like ours (now that 2 of the 3 kids have gone off to college) because we have plenty of flatware between dishwasher cycles.
