Nice large size!

We were looking to replace our previous pepper grinder which was built much the same. We'd had it for almost 20 years so were very happy with it. This one was a bigger version, but was the same design & made of the same materials. We liked the clear design over wood or other opaque materials because it lets you know exactly how much is left in the grinder. We really loved our former, but now broken, pepper grinder, so we were hoping this one would be a match for it. I'm really happy to say it exceeded expectations! We're both older now, me in my 50's, him in his 60's, & we both have a spent a lifetime working with our hands & have varying degrees of arthritis & carpal tunnel syndrome. This pepper grinder is a little bigger in height but also in diameter so it makes it much easier for sore hands to hold & use. The adjustment from coarse to fine grind is excellent! We're both chefs by trade & use this daily so it really gets a workout. It's not just a pretty ornament for a table setting. It's only been a month, but so far this little guy is holding up beautifully & I hope we get another 20 years from this one! It's a great pepper mill!

Grinding gear breaks after about 1 month

When I received the grinder it worked great. I use it only with whole black peppercorns. At first it provided fast grinding capability, making lots of ground pepper on each turn of the head.A month later, it's almost useless. No matter how I turn the metal dial at the top, only a tiny dusting of pepper comes out the bottom when I turn the head. To get a normal amount of pepper on a single plate of pasta I need to stand there for like 60 seconds twisting the head round and round and it feels like the grinding isn't really happening inside.It's probably my own fault for buying such a cheap item. The grinder gear inside is probably low quality and designed to be just barely strong enough to last through Amazon's return period. I've used the product exactly as intended and unfortunately it just feels like I've been scammed :(
