Beautiful, But Feels More Like Plastic than Wood

Described as solid wood, this tray is very lightweight and feels very much like some type of plastic laminate. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful piece that perfectly complements the wood accents in my room. I actually appreciate the fact that it's not heavy, as it can be easily moved to different areas of my home. I like to switch things up.The wood-grain finish is very attractive, and has a soft, natural-looking sheen to it. I haven't needed to dust or clean it yet, but I believe a soft cloth will do the trick.The actual surface is a few inches short of a foot, which is the perfect size for my glass coffee table. I'm currently using it as a candle holder, but you can be as creative as you wish with smaller objects. I would not place real fruit on this surface for fear of damaging the finish.The legs are rounded at the base, so it should be safe to place the tray on any surface.All told, this is a lovely accent piece that is both decorative and functional. In terms of looks, it can definitely hold its own with more expensive pieces.

Love the size and design ! But….

I bought this display bowl because I loved the artistic design, flat bottom (versatile for different displays) and size - perfect for my coffee table. I chose the black one and I love everything about it except this item is described as “ light wood”, but it is clearly made with some kind of moulded plastic- like material. It is very light weight. It works well on my family room table, but probably would not use it on a well lit kitchen table or counter, because it definitely does not look like wood in a brightly lit setting.
