Love Bread? Then Buy These Bags. Now! What are You
My retirement hobby is working as a supermarket cashier at Dierbergs, not the biggest in St Louis, but without question the best. St Louis is fortunate to have a bread bakery, Companion Bread. We get deliveries every morning of fresh, perfect density, oh so wonderful bread from Companion. My favorite is the 5 Grain Miller, a large round incredible loaf of bread. And I know bread. My Mom’s family owned a bakery. Even after he retired, Grandpa baked bread and other baked goods every day he lived. On the other side, Dad was Pastry Chef at The Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel. Now even baking bread is not in my wheelhouse. Maybe in my bucket list. But I can tear through a loaf of bread like it’s nobody’s business. I never had supermarket bread until I was married. Back to the bread bags. I’m using them to extend the freshness of that 5 Grain Miller. And the bags are doing a great job in extending the freshness of the of the bread. The 5 Grain Miller is so great, I just cut off a slice, and into my mouth it goes. No butter even. Just the 5 Grain Miller and me. Nothing else required.I’m very pleased to have purchased these bags.P.S. Surely you know that 98+% of the people who go gluten free, do so with no medical necessity, and likely receive no benefits. How can they turn their back to one of God’s greatest gifts given to the human race; dense, chewy, packed with gluten, bread. If it’s gluten-free, it’s not really bread:

Beautifully made and attractive linen bread bags
I'm a neophyte bread baker. In fact I'm new to most things culinary. But having treated myself to an Oster Bread Machine for my birthday I looked for ways to keep those freshly baked loaves of bread nice and fresh, even though they tended to be consumed within a disturbingly short amount of time. So I ordered a pack of these linen bags. Now, being a belt and suspender kind of guy, I also decided to purchase some plastic Bread Loaf Bags (by Perfect Utopia) that my helpful next door neighbor told me she used to freeze her bread. So I currently wrap my bread in a plastic bag before popping it in the linen bag, although the linen bag would no doubt be quite sufficient. The linen bread bags are beautifully made and look very attractive on the counter top, and in addition to being a nice way to store freshly made bread for a day or two have the added benefit of making it more difficult to constantly nibble at the tasty products from my new bread machine. I think these linen bags would make lovely gifts and an especially nice way of presenting someone with a freshly baked loaf.

Essential Part of Keeping Bread Fresh
Fantastic bread storage when combined with a plastic or controllable air-tight shell. I currently reuse a 2 gallon ziplock bag to control the humidity, but will be getting a bread container when I find one that is worth the money. Function > form. A loaf of bread easily keeps for a week with this combination. I'm guessing it would last longer, but I almost always run out of bread at one week of storage.Another tip I picked up is to slice only the bread you use and start by cutting the loaf in the middle, combining the two halves after each cut. This really helps keep the moisture in the loaf of bread. The linen bag is what I'd consider an essential component of the setup you will need to keep the bread fresh and control the humidity to your liking.

Just what the Baker ordered, a great looking presentation.
Sorry I gave you a 4 stare rating, only, because I just received them yesterday and have not had a chance to use them. However they are very well made and beautiful. I plan on bringing a freshly made loaf of sour dough bread in it, to my next gathering. :)

Linen Bags Don't Keep Bread Fresh
I placed a freshly baked loaf of bread in this bag and overnight, it dried out as though I had left it out without cover. These bags don't seem to work as advertised. I'm not sure why I thought a plain linen bag would keep my bread fresh because they don't. I don't recommend these bags.

Beautiful linen bread bags that maintain your bread’s freshness.
I had read that linen bags were the best way to keep bread fresh. I’ve tried plastic bags which work short term but the bread molds quickly. I’ve tried paper bags which I like for transport and keeping the bread in good shape but the crust softens pretty fast. These linen bags have a really nice drawstring to seal the bread in. The bags look really nice and the bread stays fresh - so far, my honey wheat bread made from fresh milled flour is soft inside with a beautiful outer crust. I highly recommend these bags!

Disappointed
Surprised that after two days, the bread was rock hard. Very disappointing.
