Hard to grip.

The sheathes are very nice and the knives came very sharp. These knives have a very large, slick, and rounded handle. Unfortunately, this does not allow for a good grip while using them - and being that they are so sharp it was easy and cumbersome to lose grip and cut myself.

Decent pairing knives

The knives are a bit bigger than expected but appear to be of decent quality steel with a larger firm blade. They are kind of an extreme as far as being on the larger end of what is considered a pairing knife with the pampered chef little pairing knives being on the smaller end and too flimsy. You could practically carve wood with these knives. My only knock on them is the handle being a bit less than ergonomic and the blade coming to a sharp point at the tip. This is fine for piercing but it has a tendency of getting a little bent and you can feel it dragging on the sponge when cleaning. For the price these are a decent buy.

Super sharp and dishwasher safe!

I bought these knives to stock my RV, but I liked them so much, I may keep them for my kitchen. They are really sharp but light weight. The plastic covers stay on securely and the handles are sturdy. I have used them on several different foods: slicing raw fruits and veggies, cutting cooked meat; slicing pastries. They performed well on everything. I never put knives in the dishwasher, but I wanted to test their "dishwasher safe" claim. To my surprise, they came out unscathed; looking like new. These are small knives: the blade is about 3.5 inches and the blade and handle together measure about 7.25 inches long. I agree with one of the other reviewers: optically, they can be a little confusing as to which end is up, but once you get used to them (also, check for the writing on the blade and handle) that is no longer a problem.
