great product!
Good value for my 9x5 loaf pans. It didn't work for my larger ones (I have a bunch of 11x5 loaf pans). But it worked well for my 9x5 loaf pans despite having a measurement of 7.5x3.5 on the package. A definite time saver, so I don't have to do origami and fold parchment, this is pre-shaped. My loaf pans have vertical walls rather than sloped out, but it still works okay. If you look at the loaf pan liner photo on this listing, you will see that the bottom measurement is 7.5x3.5 while it flares open to 9.5x5. It still works for me. Just be aware of this. The liners come in a plastic box that is shaped to help retain the shape of the liners instead of getting smooshed in a drawer. This does take up some space, but I put the container in the loaf pan. Overall, this is a great alternative for people with loaf pans with the bottom of the pan being anywhere from 7.5-8 inches long and 3.5-4 inches wide.Value wise, it is more than just getting a roll of parchment paper, but if I'm making a lot of bread, it saves me aggravation when dealing with parchment paper.
Okay, I normally just rip off a length of parchment from my big giant roll and scrunch it all up and cram it into whatever I'm baking in, but sometimes I'm cooking a LOT of stuff at once, and bread pans can be a pain in the butt. You scrunch and smash the paper in there and it starts acting up as you're trying to put your perfectly-poofed and shaped dough in there. Sure, I just use chip clips to hold the paper to the sides and then put the dough in and remove the clips, yadda yadda - but being able to reach under the counter and grab a single-use pre-formed bread pan liner is SUPER quick. It is more expensive to use these than a wad of bulk parchment paper, but for some things I simply have to ask how much my time and sanity is worth. When I'm making a huge get-together meal, the couple of minutes and frustration that pre-cut parchments save me is amazing. They fit perfectly in my glass and metal bread pans, and in my shorter sandwich-bread pan (the white one in the picture), it sort-of folds in a tiny bit but once I put the dough in there, it rises just fine and pushes the paper out of the way as it does so. Bread came out perfectly. I used it for banana bread, too: it was like using a giant muffin paper cup. For banana, pumpkin and zucchini breads it's going to sweat a little moisture into the pan, just like when you use a big ol' piece of parchment that you crumple in there. I just let the pan cool and give it a rinse. (I did spray the banana bread paper. I always do, even when it's regular bulk parchment.) These papers are purely convenience and I'm all for it - every second counts sometimes when I'm running around like a madwoman. And, like any parchment paper, it's nice to be able to pull up on the sides of the paper to lift something out of a pan. I didn't do that with the banana bread (I always let it cool first), but it did lift a sourdough-discard sandwich bread loaf out of the little pan and stayed strong. (I had a horrible moment mid-lift where I was like "I hope this paper doesn't tear" haha).
Be sure to measure your pan(s) to see if these will fit. The liners are 7½" x 3½" at the bottom, which works fine in a 1lb loaf pan. For anything larger, they're not ideal. For example, I tried putting one of these liners in a 9x5" 1.25lb pan. It left about an inch to spare all around the bottom, and the paper didn't reach all the way up the sides. Of course, you could try pushing down the liner to fill the bottom (before pouring in your batter), but then that takes even more height away from the sides. I'm disappointed because these were advertised as being for 9x5 inch and even 2lb pans.
I’m a baker of all things bread, so I’m constantly on the look out for pan liners. Acquiring one with 155 pieces was a bonus for me, since I go through them so fast. All my bread pans are 9x5” so these fit perfectly. They’re made from unbleached natural wood pulp, are BPA free and can heat up to 450 degrees without crumbling, or leaching out nasty chemicals. For my purposes using them for my breads, especially sourdough bread that bakes at high temps, these are without a doubt fantastic. They don’t stick to my breads which is nice when you have a design on the sides of the bread. I appreciate this a lot! I used to use parchment paper that I tore off a roll, so having these ready to fit my pans is a savings in time.Bonus uses: I use these to store my smaller baking items in a kitchen drawer. These liners in particular have stood up to my constant searching through icing tips and couplers without tearing. I also use them to hold my younger grandchildren’s crayons and markers. It’s easier for them to see and grab their crayons and such in these liners. Saves on tears since some of the crayon boxes are hard for their little hands to navigate. And of course I use them for savory dishes such as meat loaves. I even made a layered potato dish in them with a lot of success. So whether you use them for baking bread, storage, crafts or savory foods, I feel confident in saying you’ll be very happy with them!Five stars for sure.
