Exquisite!!
These are absolutely stunning. Having a hand-carved WOOD napkin ring is just a treasure. For this price point they are something to admire and use on your family table. They arrived fine, a bit thirsty and needed an oil treatment. Whipped out my John Boos board cream and mystery oil. Once treated, they transformed into gorgeous hand-crafted objects to admire and talk about. Terrific on a charcuterie table presentation. They are wood and need treated just like your chopping boards. Coming from Kenya, they may need a treatment on arrival. Me, I am a victorian style person, but admire this craftsmenship. They will certainly be great for backyard get togethers, gifts, daily dinner tables, charcuterie, pizza night, taco night, or just a snack with a glass of wine. Just remember they are wood and may need treatment when arriving and periodically during the year to keep their natural beauty. Also remember these are done by hand, as such no two will ever be alike as they are in mass, mould made production, no artist will carve the same item as the one before. That goes for carving, painting, sewing, even cooking will show differences in taste, design, carving, and painting, anything done by hand will have unique differences. Enjoy the beauty of the person or of the many artisans who spend hours creating such craftsmans piece. These have a nice size, weight, and once treated will serve you well for years to come. Appreciate their unique beauty and that each one may have provided sustinance for someone for the small amount we paid for them. A treasure to find.....I gave them another treatment and they get more beautiful.. Be sure to treat them with a quality food safe oil and creme like Boos Mystery oil and board creme to bring out their individual beauty.

Incredible animal carvings!
These are so incredible! The wood is a little dried out so not as shiny as the picture, but I am just going to add a little oil and see if that brings back the wood luster. My grandkids are going to love these when they come over to eat. I have a centerpiece of carved olive wood of noah's ark so these will be perfect! Highly recommend and came well packaged.

Beautiful, handmade in Kenya, inconsistent quality- the Giraffe is Mine
These wooden rings are hand-carved in Kenya, and I love that it shows! What a breath of fresh air among the thousands of impersonal and environment-unfriendly plastic items from China! They work very well for medium/thin napkins, no more paper napkins for us! With 6 rings, I got my family covered and have enough for a couple of long-term guests. Lots of fun when each person chose an animal (hands off from MY giraffe!!). We now spend time looking at them during our meals and imagining who the artists who made them are and how they live. We ordered 2 sets and unfortunately the quality is inconsistent (one star off), as one set was completely unfinished, while the other one looked vibrant and shiny like in the Amazon website photo. We returned the unfinished set but on second thoughts it was such a waste...I am sure they are not going back to Kenya to get a coat of finish. We should have done it ourselves. All in all, though, these were a total hit in our household.
