Love these bowls

It seems weird to be writing a review for bowls, but I love these bowls. First off, my wife ordered these because I’m always complaining about the Corelle bowls we have. I don’t mean to bash Corning. They make a great product, but I hate the way the bowls all flare out at the top. I do Keto and I do a lot of my own cooking. When you do keto, you use a lot of egg recipes. The way the Corelle bowls flare out makes it hard to cleanly crack an egg. Tried some cheap Melamine bowls and hated them. To light always felt like I was going to spill what I was preparing, and they looked cheap.These bowls are large and have a nice feel to them and look great. I can easily prepare an egg recipe with lots of ingredients and not have it go all over the counter as I’m whipping them up. I also eat a lot of salads. These bowls are big enough to let me mix up a killer salad. When I make a salad, any ingredients that are in the ‘fridge can end up in my salad and I like to mix them well so the proteins are evenly distributed throughout the salad. No more picking up random pieces of cheese and meat that have spilled over on to the table.Another big plus to these bowls is their versatility. We spend most of our summer in a small (emphasis on small) cottage near the beach. Space is a premium. Any one item that can serve multiple purposes is a plus. Like I said, these are great mixing bowls and salad bowls, but they have a classy, quality appearance. They look great on the table for side dishes when serving dinner or as chip and dip bowls when entertaining.I do get a bit of a chuckle when they refer to these as cereal bowls. They are pretty big. Better have some big boxes of cereal if you’re going to let your boys serve themselves. I’ll post a few pics so you can have a realistic idea of their size. And no I’m not eating an iPhone in my salad, I just included that to give you something to judge the size by.

Off-gassing problem for the plastic insert.

The bowls are nice and appropriate for large soups and "Buddha bowls" if that's your thing. My biggest complaint is the packaging. The styrofoam is cheap and crumbles instantly, creating a mess in your home that must be vacuumed. And there is a piece of plastic wrapping that is so toxic -- so much off-gassing. Stupidly, I took a whiff and I'm sure it destroyed many brain cells. Don't sniff it. They really need to focus on eco-friendly packaging. I like the set and the price was right but my daughter thought it looked like dog bowls! the porcelain is off-white, which is what I wanted since my regular dishes are beige. I wish they would get ahead of the curve as neutrals are trending and folks like beige coloring in their kitchens nowadays.
