Elegant butter keeper
I got this for my DIL, who has taken to making her own butter, and she loves it! It holds the equivalent of a stick of butter. Since she tends to make more than that at a time, she sits the rest in the fridge until she needs to refill this. The water inside does its job if keeping the butter fresh. The marble keeps it cool, which will help during the summer to keep it from melting it on the counter. It also has a smaller footprint than a typical ceramic better dish, so is good if you don't have a lot of space to work with. Easy to clean by hand.

Elegant and Functional — My First Butter Bell, and I’m Sold
I’d never used a butter bell before, but I was intrigued enough to order this one — and I’m so glad I did. I’d been hiding my old butter dish in the cabinet because it looked so unsightly, but this white marble crock is genuinely beautiful. It sits proudly on my countertop and blends right in with my kitchen decor.It holds one stick of butter. I cut it into pats and mash it down with a teaspoon to remove any air pockets. The butter isn’t noticeably softer than it was in the dish, but I’m confident it’s better stored with the water seal in the lid. When I lift out the bell portion, there are just a few drops of water — far less than I expected — and no mess.I can easily scrape the butter thinly with a knife and spread it on both firm and soft breads without tearing them to pieces. It’s a small upgrade that’s made a big difference in both aesthetics and usability.Water tip: You should change the water about once a week, though I doubt it would hurt if you went two. I use cold filtered water from the refrigerator, and it works perfectly.Handy tech tip, there is a line scored in the marble on the inside of the jar where the water goes, it's 1/3 cup like mark - the amount you need to put in the base. ;) I tried to get a picture of it, you can certainly feel it with your finger.

THIS IS TABLE ELEGANCE AT A NEW LEVEL FOR ME
I have never seen a butter dish of this quality and elegance before. A hand made marble butter dish that holds butter on an inverted cold water filled bowl to keep it ultimate in freshness really blew my mind and set me on a course of using more upper tier serving items. This butter dish hold about 1/2 a cube of butter and to store it you turn the butter keeper upside down and place it in the bowl with very cold filtered water. In doing so, the butter stays very fresh, and very good tasting. I was not aware if this until I received the butter keeper and did the storage in this manner. What a difference. Butter never tasted so good and very fresh. The marble bowl and keeper are very durable and can take some minor drops on the table, but being marble you must use a bit of care around this set. It is a great value for the money, and it will be an impressive butter server for your guests. Overall easy to use and keep clean, the only thing I suggest is that you replace the water every day with clean cold water to keep the butter at its optimum freshness.

Pretty but maybe not functional
While this is a beautiful piece, it's not really as functional as I would like. It's well-made and nice quality though. Very pretty marble. Nice and smooth finish without imperfections.It doesn't lift out smoothly. It sticks a little as you pull the top off.Also, it says it is dishwasher safe, but marble is not really dishwasher safe. It can etch and stain.I am going to stick with my ceramic butter keeper instead. The top comes off easily, and I have put it in the dishwasher repeatedly without issue.

This is so pretty. And HEAVY! It could serve as a helpful deterrent to would-be invaders, if wielded swiftly. It definitely seems fancy and classic. I don't think it'll ever go out of style. It will look good on any counter.That being said, will I use it? Unsure. We usually keep a glass butter dish on the counter. Unless our A/C goes out, the butter stays the perfect amount of softness without getting messy. It keeps its shape as a stick. If I start using this butter bell, I'll have to remember to change the water every day. I don't use butter every single day, so I see myself forgetting all about this and ending up with weeks-old water that will make me question the purity of the butter within.I think this would make a nice gift for someone who has a nicely decorated kitchen or likes to cook!
