Keeps butter fresh

Love this marble butter crock! Looks great on the counter! So glad I found it! Only wish it came with a marble butter spreader. It’s great!UPDATE: I've had this crock for couple mos. now, and all of sudden the butter has been turning moldy 😒 so I stopped putting water inside and now no mold. I don't understand it. My daughter has a ceramic one which she has never added water to and she has had no problems. So for now I'm placing a napkin over it as I can't put the smaller (top) inside (which is the one getting the mold on the butter.) Don't know what I'm going to do now. And I really loved the marble one.
