The slicer is a fantastic kitchen tool for quick and precise slicing! The stainless steel blades are super sharp, making it easy to cut vegetables like potatoes and onions with minimal effort. The adjustable thickness is a great feature, and the included cut-resistant gloves and hand guard add extra safety. Sturdy, efficient, and a huge time-saver—highly recommended!
Long ago I had a different German brand V blade slicer that I paid lots of money for. Worked great for over a decade but was all plastic except the blades. This unit performs equally as well with careful improvements over the older styles. One of the great parts about this is that it is stainless steel. First time my wife ever saw one. She was able to use it comfortably, quickly and competently within minutes. It drastically cuts down meal preparation time so you can use your valuable time to do other things. The safety cap over the food being sliced is improved design and works much better that the flat old designs. A free pair of safety gloves is a very nice touch and it is very easy to clean. The price is much less than many years ago for a better designed and made product. A great find.
I disagree with the review that said that it's poor workmanship. The quality of this mandoline is good, and it is sharp. However, if you want the variety of slicing options, it's not the tool for it.
Used it once so far and I like it! You have to be careful- the blade is very sharp but it slices effortlessly.

After years of battling with my old mandolin (which was more of a blunt suggestion than a slicer), I finally upgraded—and oh baby, this thing means business.From the moment I unboxed it, I knew my vegetables were in trouble. Onions? Obliterated. Tomatoes? Sliced so thin they could audition for a paper cut. Potatoes? Perfectly uniform chips that made me feel like a snack scientist.This mandolin is sharp, sleek, and somehow makes me feel both powerful and slightly concerned for my fingertips. (Seriously, use the hand guard. Don’t be a hero.)Cleanup is easier than convincing me to order takeout, and it stores neatly without looking like a medieval torture device. It’s like the Ferrari of kitchen gadgets—if the Ferrari came with a warning label and made salads.Bottom line: If you’re still using that dull, clunky relic you bought during the Bush administration, do yourself (and your stir-fry) a favor and upgrade. You won’t regret it.
The exposed blades for cutting are surgically sharp and the design is such that it is a simple tool that cuts great. HOWEVER, it is quite dangerous as the design has no blade safety measures. The product comes with safety gloves, one-size-fits-most, but I believe that falls short as you cannot wash the item with the gloves on and the upper half of the slicing surface flips up to expose ALL the blades. There are other Mandolin type products with feeders that look much safer. I am not going to use this one again as I needed to get three stitches after slicing myself trying to clean it. I will try again with a different hooper or feeder design and some safety measures in the design.
