The 100-prong design helps incorporate air effectively when whisking in a zig-zag motion, resulting in a smoother consistency with less clumping compared to using a standard frother or spoon.The bamboo feels lightweight but not fragile. As with most chasen whisks, it requires proper care (rinsing gently and air drying) to maintain shape over time.This works well for authentic matcha preparation and produces a consistent foam when used correctly. A good option for anyone wanting a traditional tool rather than an electric alternative.

Low end 76 tine whisks. Not a good value.

I'm not sure why other reviewers are raving about these whisks. They are literally the exact same Low end Chinese made matcja whisks sold for a few dollars at Japanese discount stores. They only have seventy six tines not one hundred, which is a very low tine count that produces minimal foam. The tine ends are brittle even when soaked beforehand.These kinds of matcha whisks are good for beginners to learn matcha whisking, as they are usually less than five dollars each and basically disposable.However advertising these as higher end one hundred tine whisks is misleading at best. One can easily count the tines and tell that the whisks have dozens fewer tines than claimed.If you want 76 tine whisks and don't object to a higher than normal cost then this set may be suitable for you.
