🍵Who could ask for anything more?🍵
This set caught my attention because of the sheer quantity of components, more than other sets that I have seen. The 12-piece set arrived securely and attractively packaged in a box suitable for gift-giving. This will be a future gift to a family member who samples teas from around the globe. She will enjoy learning the Matcha ritual. The ceramic bowl and whisk holder are a lovely shade of pebbled green. The storage cup is more utilitarian in white ceramic. I would have liked the storage cup to match the bowl and whisk holder, but my guess is that the storage cup is not actually part of the tea ceremony and the white ceramic sets it apart. There is a traditional bamboo scoop with its own ceramic rest as well as a bamboo spoon. The scoop is used to measure the tea and to sift the tea powder through the provided strainer into the bowl. The spoon is used for initial mixing of the tea and water before the whisk is employed. There is a brush to gently clean the whisk to help preserve its longevity. The whisk should also be rinsed with water and placed on the whisk holder to dry. The dark green tea towel with its white floral embroidery is used to wipe the rim of the shared bowl after each drinker partakes. A bamboo mat is also included to serve as the base for the entire set of components and utensils. One side of the instructional card lists the 12 components of the set and the reverse side outlines the 4-Step Brewing Guide and describes the care of the tools. The only essential ingredient that you need to procure is the tea powder. The only other item that I can imagine needing is a hot water thermometer if one wishes to be an absolute purist. The Brewing Guide lists the desirable water temperatures to warm the whisk before mixing the tea and then to make the tea. This is a high quality and comprehensive Matcha Tea Set at an extremely reasonable price point.
