Beautifully made
This set is absolutely beautiful and very well made. The color is exactly what I wanted and matches what is shown in the pictures perfectly, which is always a relief when ordering online. I also really love the texture—it has a matte, slightly textured finish instead of a basic glossy, smooth feel. That detail makes it feel much more elegant and high-quality. I’m not a fan of plastic at all, so having something that feels more refined and substantial is a huge plus for me.I usually avoid glass and ceramic because I have motor skill issues and worry about breaking things, but I just couldn’t pass this up. I love matcha, and I’m especially happy to finally have something that allows me to prepare it the way it’s meant to be made. It really adds to the whole experience. The only real downside I’ve noticed so far is that if the whisk isn’t placed correctly on the holder, it can become misshapen. That’s something to be mindful of. I also find it a little difficult to get all of the matcha to fully dissolve. I’m not sure if that’s due to the quality of the matcha I’m using or if the whisk doesn’t quite reach the bowl correctly. Because of that, my matcha ended up a bit chunky.I now need to find a good quality matcha and a safe, permanent place to keep this set, since it would be easy for it to get broken in my house. I do wish it had come with the mat that’s shown in the pictures, but I’m sure I can find something that will work well with it. The scoop is super cute, although it can be a little tricky to use depending on the matcha packaging. One thing I really love is the stainless steel sifter. It feels very durable and much more long-lasting than other options. I still need to figure out exactly how to make a good cup of matcha, since my first attempt wasn’t very successful, but I’m excited to keep learning. I can’t wait for this to become my go-to option when offering guests a drink.

Everything you need to make matcha tea
Does not come with any instructions and since this is my first matcha set, I headed to YouTube to find how-to videos.Firstly, I had no idea the whisk sits on top of the little cup when not in use! So cute! After watching a few videos, I soaked the whisk (chasan) and sifted the matcha powder into the bowl with the provided sifter. And then I added 174-degree water to the matcha powder, mixed it well but then tried to froth it but I didn’t manage to make it froth. Disappointed, I wondered if the bowl’s bottom is not flat and wide enough, because I read the best chawans are wide and flat-bottomed, but of course it could be that my technique was not correct.Anyway, I added some coconut milk and honey, since I didn’t want the tea to be too strong. Although I’m drinking matcha for the health benefits, I needed to make it palatable. For the price this is a nice set. Has everything you need and everything in the box is a good quality, which I appreciate. The brand of tea I bought was Jade Leaf matcha tea..but now I want to branch out and try a different brand to see the differences in flavor. And figure out how to whisk to create the foam. One final note: The box has no company name or location anywhere on the box. No leaflets or inserts either.

Five Piece Simply Elegant Matcha Tea Set
This is a smaller 5 piece set to make Matcha tea. It comes with a wooden handled fine mesh strainer, a bamboo whisk in its own plastic container, bamboo tea scoop, holder for the whisk when not in use, and the matcha bowl. I am just barely even a beginner to the world of matcha tea, so I am sure there are authentic names to these items, that I do not yet know. The bowl and whisk holder are in a dark celadon color, or we might call it a slightly brighter army green. Whatever you call the color, they are simple, yet classic. They are made of ceramic. This is a smaller set than the one I already have, but that is exactly what I wanted. I have a couple of cousins who also have recently discovered matcha tea, and now we get together every once in a while to have some. This set is so perfect to take with me. (they have their own too)The pieces are easy to clean but I only hand wash and dry them.Although this set is specifically for matcha tea, I have been making herbal teas for years and some of the pieces can easily be adapted to home grown herbs and resulting teas.If you love all kinds of different teas, this set is for you. It also makes a thoughtful gift for your favorite tea drinker.

Works well
Nice matcha set, though I do wish the green was a bit brighter (it's like a split pea soup green). The glaze is more of a matte glaze, not smooth/polished, so keep that in mind if you're looking for something glass glazed. The whisk works well, and now I'm able to whip up a nice, frothy matcha at a fraction of the cost that Starbucks charges. Worth getting if you're really into matcha or dalgona!

Make my matcha great!
This matcha set did not include instructions. I learned the strainer and bamboo stick is for pouring match through to sift out any lumps. Using the whisk makes a nice frothy matcha. I have used a wire whisk prior to getting this and this one definitely makes a positive difference. The ceramic bowl is a nice weight and has a pour spout to easily pour your matcha in a mug. I also looked up cleaning for the whisk and it needs only to be washed with water. The holder for the whisk is the perfect size for the whisk to sit on and dry after cleaning. Really nice set.

Everything you need for ceremonial style matcha, except for the tea!
I’ve always enjoyed matcha and have often been frustrated by all the sugar filled options available these days and with how hard it is to get a genuine matcha, especially koicha when I really want a big boost of nutrients. This set has everything that you need to make ceremonial style matcha at home. The ceramic is really well made, as was the whisk and strainer, with a nice patina and pleasant texture. My only gripe is that the box that it comes in is very “ehh” and not what I would prefer for something that I am gifting. (That said, it is very well protected with a foam insert). Once it’s out of the box, it has a beautiful set for when you want to take your time and enjoy ceremonial style matcha.
