Premium hand grinder without breaking the bank
I bought this grinder during Prime Day and it has lived up to the hype. The Phantox Pro is roughly half or one-third the price of similar hand grinders with high notoriety. The materials feel very premium with a large 7-star burr. The body is all metal with a wooden knob and rubber grip for easy grinding. The outer adjustment ring is a great quality of life feature for those who want an easy way to adjust grind sizes. It has true zero point calibration which should be the standard for all outer adjustment grinders. The grinding experience is very smooth and fast even for light roasts and fine grinds. It doesn't take much effort given how large the burrs are, which is a huge step up if you come from using a ceramic burr. I mainly use it for pour over, and have been using it almost every day for over 6 months. It produces a very clean cup and can extract flavors that can't be extracted from cheaper grinders. It's very forgiving given how it almost feels impossible to get a bad tasting cup of coffee. The one caveat is that the brews may taste a bit too clean or weak for some people. I've heard of methods to turn the knob once on a fine setting, then finish grinding on the setting of your choice. This can introduce more fines into your grounds which can add more nuance to your cup. This is up to the user if they choose to do so.Any negatives might have to do with the disassembly and cleaning of the grinder itself. You don't have to disassemble it that often given how grinding and daily use is something of a self-cleaning process. The grinder comes with a tool which helps remove the burr from the main unit. I'd recommend looking up videos online for more detailed methods on how to take the grinder apart and put it back together. It's a bit more complicated compared to taking apart a Hario Mini Mill, but worth the effort. In conclusion, it is a well balanced grinder for all roast levels and brewing methods. It's great value for performance given how it's compared to other hand grinders that's more than twice as expensive.

Clean, consistent pour over grinder with good fine distribution
I’ve been brewing pour over for many years and mostly drink washed Ethiopian/gesha, and occasionally anaerobic/coferment/honey. These are very dense beans and tend to expose weaknesses in grinders, especially when grind consistency and fines control aren’t great. This grinder handles dense beans noticeably well. The 45mm burrs combined with ghost quasi burrs feel sharp and controlled during grinding, producing an even grind with very low fines. In the cup, it offers clean, balanced brews with good clarity. On the nose, it pulls out delicate aromas like floral and herbaceous notes. Grinding finer brings out sweetness and body, while going coarser highlights clarity and fruitiness. For heavier processed beans, it keeps those profiles balanced without becoming harsh. I have not tried it for espresso, but others have commented on it's great capability for modern espresso (not traditional).Build quality is solid. The grinder has a good heft, a textured body that improves grip, and a thick metal handle that feels durable and comfortable to use. External adjustment ring has a satisfying click without being too sensitive. I also really like the micron chart that comes with it. Helps me a lot with dialing in different recipe. I typically use 700 micron has the base point and adjust from there as needed. This grinder is well designed for high altitude specialty coffee. The grind consistency and cup clarity are in a different league from lower cost grinders. I honestly think this is a very underrated mid tier hand grinder.

Works well once I ignored MAVO's recommended dial settings.
Works well but the adjustment dial was not as accurate for my Phantox Pro. I had to increase the dial by a 4-5 dial setting to achieve the grind size I was looking for. Other than this, it works well. I used a K_-_E sifter to check grind size. 0.0167mm/click and 6-10 on the dial did not give the indicated particle size. Would have liked to made a 4-1/2 rating but it's either 4 or 5 and well ...

wish I had it earlier
Comparing to the $20 grinder I had before, the difference is so significant. They said there is sweetness stays in the mouth, which is no kidding. You don't have to be a connoisseur to find the difference. I can't believe I was wasting so much coffee beans for such a long time until now.
