Only one use to grind meat but I'm impressed so far.

I have never had an electric meat grinder before, this unit was delivered today and after washing the parts needed to grind meat, within 20 minutes of bringing it in the door I was grinding Oryx meat and was quickly impressed with it. As with some reviewers I was initially disappointed with the recommended shut down after five minutes of use but as not all the meat was cubed, and in getting additional containers and weighing them as they filled, I was turning the unit on and off periodically and it never shut down during the grinding of about 20 pounds of meat so that was no issue in my use. I bought this particular product because it has a handle, making moving it easy for a 74 year old guy with osteo arthritis in both shoulders, the suction cups which keep it from walking around the counter top, and two attachments. Specifically, the tomato juicer attachment, I grow tomatoes in my garden and next year I will be making (canning) tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce. Also, the sausage maker attachment, never made sausage or brats but that may be my next 'new thing' to try. I also bought this because it is fairly tall compared to several other grinders and even then, without setting it on something, the product delivery 'port', if you will, is not very high and this can be inconvenient. Also, I thought this may be a single speed grinder, it is a two speed unit and you push the slow button to go into the slow speed. I also thought the owners manual was brief, simple, and to the point, wish all manuals could be this brief but tell you what you need to know. So, only used it once but it did a great job and looking forward to using it some more. And I did go through and check that all the various attachments/parts are there and yes, all there and everything was well packaged and damage free.

The little motor that could

When I first opened this up, I was concerned by how light weight it was. However, this grinder was shockingly strong and fast. I used to use a kitchen aid attachment which did work, but I was always worried about burning up my wife's mixer. It also took a long time to get through 20 lbs of meat. With this grinder, I knocked out 20 lbs of meat in about 15 minutes and that included switching to a smaller grind size plate and running it back through again. The parts are all easy to clean. I haven't had a chance to use the other attachments like the cheese graters or the tomato sauce attachment, but they seem well made and if they perform like the meat grinder then it'll be great. You can't beat the performance for the price. Its produces great ground meat and it has 3 different grind size attachments so you can make anything from burger meat to summer sausage or meat sticks. It saves me a ton of time because of how fast it grinds. It was also easy to do a second grind. If you are debating between this or a kitchen aid attachment, spend the extra money to get this if you value your time and want to spare your wife's mixer! Highly recommend.

Excellent Grinder

The quality of this meat grinder was excellent. Heavy duty and has suction cups to keep it on the counter. I made burger and it didn’t disappoint me one bit. It says to hand wash which was easy enough and make sure the blade is put in correctly. (Just look at how it’s pre assembled before taking apart). Overall I would definitely purchase again. Price, durability and appearance-I give it a 5 star. :)

Buy A Different One

Have had for 14 months and only use it during hunting season - it bogs down and doesn’t handle grinding venison very well. It gets hot pretty quickly.Wife didn’t know these are not dishwasher safe and just one wash completely destroyed all of the grinding components, rendering them unsafe for food contact (powder residue) and completely useless……
