VERY happy with this budget buy
This is an excellent bargain that I snagged on a discount, but I wouldn't have minded paying a little more. I wasn't sure if this would be as good as the other bargain brand that I recently dropped and broke... It seems to be even better so far. got my nephew the earlier model last year for a gift and he LOVES his. IPROS:--Lightweight and room-saving. I can store this on my counter without taking up a lot of room or lift it easily to sit on top of the fridge if I need it out of the way. On a day when I am using it a lot off and on, I just set it on its edge and slide it out of the way behind my pressure cooker.-- I love, love, love that the machine has options for bag thickness. It does the job for the thick foil coffee bags I buy - unlike another and pricier one I have).-- It's nice to see the progress of a function. I did have to get used to watching for that instead of expecting the lights to go off!-- The cutter is handy. I literally had to glue a disposable cutter to the top of my other one. It's much nicer to have this one right there to use. It's kind of a big deal for me.-- While I didn't think the measuring line would be useful, it really is. It's helpful for me when I'm trying to keep bags at a uniform length or width. Handy.CONS:(These are VERY minor things next to the positives.)-- I have to open and close it to seal things. I had gotten used to just sliding the bags into the other one. This is not that big of a deal but the snap-closure can be a little hard to do if one has weaker hand strength. (On the plus side, I can easily tell how much bag I am sealing & waste less.)-- The cutter is a bit finicky. At first, I kept bumping the buttons and starting the machine when trying to cut bags. Of course, the trick is to do the cutting while the machine is off! LOLOverall - this is one I do not regret getting at all. It seems pretty sturdy (if I don't go dropping it!) and I like the features. I does everything I need and the price was fantastic. As always, it's nice when they come with a few bags to get you started.
