Great settings for different foods
I had previously owned 2 different vacuum sealers. One lasted several years but, I always had difficulty sealing moist or wet foods bags wouldn't seal completely or even when I thought they were sealed I would after freezing find them open and they would have freezer-frost. This machine takes out the 'guess work' with the availability of buttons thereby allowing me to choose the type of food that I'm vacuuming and sealing. It's fool-proof! Sometimes, with multiple bags to seal I found that my hands would get tired by holding the device "down". Now I can lock the machine down and allow it to vacuum and seal. Recently I made cinnamon rolls not wanting to "crush" the rolls I used the intermittent setting allowing me to go as far as I needed with the vacuum and then seal. Great machine.

The orange Vac Pulse button needs to be held down to vacuum.
I had to call customer service because I couldn't get the orange Vac Pulse button to vacuum. I spoke to Ian, a very helpful gentleman. He told me I had to press the orange button and hold it down to make it vacuum. I was just hitting the button and releasing. It does not say that in the instructions so I am noting it here. So hold the button don until it has vacuumed enough air out of the bag. I love my Megawise Vac & Seal appliance.Char

I don't know if I would buy this again
The vacuum sealer was a little hard for me to use I'm still having difficulty. I don't know if it's because it's a cheaper brand or what. The foam part of my vacuum sealer had popped, so I tried to still use it and it didn't work. So I ordered some more and I'm praying that it'll work because it will save me a lot of money, especially having gastric bypass surgery I waste a lot of food and I'm tired of doing it. I want to see if it's going to work again once I place the new foam inside the sealer, hopefully it does. But if not I might have to buy a more expensive one. Because the few times that I did use, it worked nicely and I loved it. However I didn't have it that long and I'm irked that it's not working properly. So I mean if you're trying to save money, I'll say try it out. But sometimes cheap it's not always the answer.

Customer Service that actually cares!
Had an issue with sealer sealing. After several text, photos and correspondence the issue is finally going to be resolved. They responded quickly, professionaly and are going to replace unit and extend a 6 month warranty. I have had many sealers and I was very happy with this till it had a shape piece on strip that prevented it from sealing. I would highly recommend this unit with this kind of customer service.....hard to find these days, just to speak to a real person is a A+++ in my grade book. Thank you!

WOW----This little machine is a POWERHOUSE!
Well worth the money.This compact unit is powerful and quick, it seals bags in seconds.It stores easily with its small footprint.I like the bag cutter conveniently located on the top front of the machine. The only improvement I can think of is adding a line at a right angle to the cutter so the bag can be lined up and cut squarely across.Other than that, which certainly is no defect, it is just the ticket. I vacuum everything now..cheese, pepperoni, onions (really keeps them fresh and the kitchen odor free) you name it, I vacuum it.This is a great addition to any kitchen.You won't regret buying this item!

I'm not blown away or entirely disappointed.
I was anxious to get this new toy. It is pretty and well made. I have another one which is made by food saver. In comparison to my food saver vacuum sealer this one does not cut it for me. It hardly sucks out all the air but it does seal it completely. I used it on the pulse vacuum setting and it only did half of what I needed to be done. I used it on wet, dry, and moist foods. No matter what I was vacuuming, it didn't get all the air out before sealing it. The suction is very poor. I have read the reviews and did my research before purchasing this vacuum sealer and I can not understand how this can get 5 stars, unless I got one that may be a bit defective. To sum it all up, you get what you pay for! I'm not blown away and not entirely disappointed either. I will say this. It's better than just using zip lock bags for freezer storage. It's too early to say it's durable being that I've only had it for a few days.
