Works well for tea

I drink a lot of tea and need a box that is airtight and light proof, wide enough to scoop the tea out, and that does not look ugly and out of place. Despite being designed for coffee, this does the trick, much better than your standard tea tin box.Shape and size are close to perfect. I am not a fan of the plastic parts used for the threading that screws the box shut; if tea leaves (or coffee grounds) get caught in the relatively soft plastic threads, they will grind into them. The lid is not going to be perfectly airtight, but I expect good enough.The stainless steel walls are thin, which makes the box feel a bit light and almost flimsy, and they feel as if they will dent if you ever drop the box too hard on the ground.The box comes with a coffee spoon that clips to a magnet on the underside of the lid. After figuring out the right amount, the spoon is perfect for portioning tea. The magnet is not strong enough; half of the time I will find the spoon has dropped into the tea rather than being stuck to the lid. But if there was no magnet, I would have to leave the spoon in the tea anyway.The box is the best tea storage I have found for now, and while it's not exactly cheap, it's still priced ok, and I am happy using it every day.This product could be improved: I love household goods that look timeless and last forever. Use better material for the screw lid interior and threads, use a stronger magnet or a mechanical clip for the spoon, and use a little bit more material for the side wall. Stainless is fine, but I would totally spring for titanium, and pay accordingly.

Sleek & Display Worthy

I bought this canister in order to keep coffee accessible without the entire can laying out on the countertop.I chose this canister due to the following factors:1) Absence of a visible logo. (I don't understand why so many companies think it's a good idea to print their obscure logo right on the most visible part. Yuck.)2) Magnetic scoop attaches to internal side of lid. Many of the competitors didn't include one or it didn't have an attachment mechanism.3) 18 oz capacity. Most comparable products were 16 oz.So far, I'm really happy with this canister. The stainless steel material seems to be fingerprint resistant. It looks really sleek on the countertop. I love how it coordinates with my stainless steel Cusianart Coffee Maker.The only things that could make this item better....1) The additional of a handle on the top of the canister so that opening and closing wouldn't require so much "manhandling."2) Slightly larger capacity so that a full can of coffee grounds would fit. I was able to fill it up with approximately 3/4 of a can of MGB Colombian.

The canister is very nice looking and I like that there is no advertising printed on it. The mechanism that screws the lid to the container is a very small movement. I don't see how it can be airtight. I am not a huge coffee aficionado so it serves my purposes. I like the magnetic lid; keeps the scoop out of the ground coffee.

Love it!

I purchased two different canisters, and when they arrived they were in different boxes but the products were virtually identical. The only differences I could note were the location of the labeling, and the other canister had some slight denting on the bottom.This canister arrived and it was a little larger than I expected. I grind my coffee beans for the week, and this can will easily hold that. I LOVE the magnetic scooper, because my current scooper is always sitting out on my counter. The mouth of the jar is wide enough to easily reach my hand in and the jar is large enough to hold my entire hand.Contrary to some other reviews, I like the screw on lid. This allows me to pick up the jar by the lid without the worry of the lid popping off and coffee spilling everywhere. It also tells me that it is securely closed to keep my coffee fresh, but it does require two hands to open and close.Overall, I prefer this jar to the other jar because it arrived undaunted and the brand labeling is on the bottom of this jar instead of the side. I don't like brand labeling on the side of the jar, but the labeling location will allow me to tell them apart. Overall, this was definitely a good buy. I am very happy with it.I received this product at a discount for my fair and honest review.
