I like kitchen gadgets, but not this one
The product arrived in a box without use or cleaning instructions. My first impression – this is cheap. I’m not sure what all the parts are supposed to do even after checking the online information. The tools are made of plastic and metal. According to the online information the metal portion is stainless steel, although it’s not marked stainless on the product. It also says it’s made of “durable plastic” and doesn’t say it’s BPA free. The metal on one of the tools I received is bent. I used that to free an avocado from the skin after cutting the avocado in half and it worked like a charm. With that said, a spoon also works like a charm. The grapefruit sectioning tool is pretty sharp, but the handle makes is difficult to use. It’s too short and doesn’t appear very durable the way it’s constructed. When I flipped the tool over to use the melon baller on the other side, the handle is too short so the grapefruit cutter ends up in your hand. I wouldn’t use the melon baller because of this design flaw. The spiral cutter is equally disappointing. It’s nothing more than a small screw and a handle-like blade. It’s not safe. In order to get it set up, you inevitably have to grab the blade like a handle. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, who knows; there are no instructions so I'm just guessing here. I tried the spiral on a sweet potato and it’s obvious it’s not intended for harder vegetables. It didn’t even stay in the potato and the spirals, at least the ones I could produce, ended up being little discs.I like kitchen gadgets but not this one. It’s a no from me. There are far better products out there.
