Mercier Bamboo Butter Dish
I LOVE this Butter Dish ! Just the Cat's meow for a cube of butter, some say about 2 cubes of butter will fit,, but I only need one at a time there seems to be LOTS of room for two cubes. I like these Butter Dishes ( bought 2 ) .there is the Stainless Steel tray that the butter sits on and a NON Slip Handle on the top cover to grip the perfectly High top cover made out of the Stainless Steel as well. The Bamboo Main tray is VERY Decorative and sure makes a nice accent on the dinner table and you don't have to worry about the top sliding ANYWHERE as the top sits recessed in the Beautiful Bamboo tray ! I have had numerous compliments of this most Functionable dish !.... I Give this dish a 5 star rating as I contacted the company for customer service about how the SS plate the butter sits on did not sit down inside the Bamboo tray properly. I used my wood chisel to shave some of the Bamboo to make a proper fit, and this dish is just Perfect now ! Also after contacting the Customer service about this Minor problem, The Company is sending me a NEW dish !! ... I am VERY VERY Pleased and happy to have purchased these two Bamboo/Stainless Steel Butter Dishes as I know they will last a long time and with the two dishes, I can have one hold the Butter and the other a Whole Cube of Cream Cheese ! VERY FAST Shipping ...Indeed !!Highly Recommended !!!!!

Pretty good quality and works for now. It’s not a perfect solution for me because I want a butter holder that I can just lift by the top handle but for now till I find something better it is okay. The metal inside is pretty standard but not high quality. The wood is lightweight but not a smooth quality finish. It’s good for the price.

Great value for the low price. I read (one) review before I purchased, which stated that the brand name was in a prominent location, on the wood. Mine has no such markings, and is very aesthetically appealing and functional, for such a low price. And, you (can) fit two sticks of butter side-by-side under the lid. If a little gets on the inside of the lid, then wipe it off with a piece of delicious bread, and eat it! Glad I bought it!

Nice butter dish; like the stainless steel and bamboo combo
This worked well for us on a smaller kitchen table where we already had a bamboo napkin holder. See photo.Was looking for an all stainless steel dish, but very happy we decided on this combo dish. The steel in bamboo combination puts this in the sweet spot for our kitchen, and to my eye gives it a more inviting culinary appeal.It holds a block of cream cheese, Irish butter or two sticks of organic butter.Like others have said the steel plates on the bamboo section removes for cleaning which is a plus.

Horrid Customer Service by Mercier
I contacted Mercier regarding this problem, but since they did not respond or make any attempt to easily solve my problem with this item, I decided to post this problem publicly. I don't hate the product, it is quite nice. However, in the one sent to me, the metal plate that should nestle in the bamboo base doesn't fit in the bamboo base! Consequently, the product is unusable. I emailed the company at the address they supplied in the shipping documents, saying that all they need to do is send me a new bamboo base, or a new metal plate, or the base and the metal plate to be sure I don't run into the same problem. I of course cannot determine if the metal plate or the bamboo base is the culprit, so sending me both would be the best solution. Personally, I don't care what solution they pick, as long as I end up with a usable product in the near future.

The dish looks good and worked good until the plastic knob on the top of it started to fall apart. I thought it was metal like the dish lid, it's not. It started to fall apart after the first year or less. Why they wouldn't use a stainless knob as well blows my mind. Don't waste your money.

Great aesthetically pleasing dish
It's hard to find a butter dish with a nice feeling, easy to use lid with a proper sized nub. This dish is a perfect choice. Not slippery, the lid sits down into the dish nicely. It is just the perfect size for the size of butter we use (kerrygold) and it is so easy to clean! Each part of the inside dish is made of wood or metal, and the butter sits on a small removable metal sheet that can be pulled out to clean between uses. Perfect!
