Great replacement for a 20 year knife - Very good price

Arrived on time. Very nice product. Very sharp. Purchased to replace a knife that was smaller that was starting to break up (handle held in place by two rivets - 20 years old). Used it once so far- prepping 6lb carrots for freezing for future soups. Some carrots were large (over 1.25" across) - no problem cutting them, no discomfort in hand after cutting the carrots into 1/2" slices.

Best Handle, Great Design, Balanced, Sharp, Comfortable - Pefect Small Kitchen Knife

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This fills a void you didn't know you had—the need for a chef's kitchen-shaped knife in a compact form. The shape is an important differentiator. This 3.5" knife features a height of 1-3/8" with a rounded heel, allowing the user to wrap a finger under the blade. This feature, along with the textured top edge, allows for a reassuring and familiar grip typically associated with larger knives. The Wharncliffe-shaped blade stands out from other offerings, providing excellent power and tip control. The handle in the Kitchin Kiji is a standout feature. Its matte finish is pleasing to hold and provides an outstanding grip. Amazingly enough, the grip gets better when the handle is wet. I've NEVER experienced that in a knife handle before. This handle geometry is uniquely shaped to provide an outstanding grip, particularly as it gently slopes in, thinning out in the perfect spot for a secure forward grip with the forefinger wrapped comfortably in the rounded heel and thumb pinched against the sloped slide and blade. Fingers securely out of the way, allow the blade to cut down to the board, no mashing fingers like paring or steak knives.Sharp and balanced, the Kitchin Kiji is the best knife I've bought in a long time. It gets daily use in my kitchen, which is the highest recommendation there is. Just buy it, you won't regret it! :-)

If you're looking for a small utility knife this is The One.

Holy crap is this thing GOOD! Been cooking professionally for 26 years and this little knife is an absolute work horse. The handle is bigger than most and the belly allows for a standard pinch grip which is rare in this category. Slice shrooms, 1\4 spuds, slice strawberries, open 300 individually packed steaks, halve some grape tomatoes, whack up some shallots... The Kiji makes short work of all of it. Mines seen a a few hundred pounds of produce and all its needed is a few reverse strokes on a steel and shes razor sharp. If you're looking for a small utility knife this is The One.

Buy this to upgrade your knife work.

This is a 5 out of 5 quality knife. It is scary sharp. The handle and bolster profiles make it easy and comfortable to both pinch-grip and handle grip depending on the task at hand.I also have a smaller Henckels Zwillig ice hardened 4 inch paring knife and this larger Milk Street Kitchin-Diji is a perfect team mate for when I am doing more robust food prep that still calls for precision and good control.I HIGHLY recommend this knife. And the price point is very attractive, as well.Do yourself a solid and add this to your kitchen armory.

Excellent value for the price.

I bought this knife as a gift for my husband. He says that, especially considering its very reasonable price, it is an excellent little utility blade; much like a small petty knife. It is very nimble and comfortable on the cutting board. However, despite its advertising, it is not a good paring knife. The blade is simply too wide for such tasks.

Great and very sharp.

The most dangerous item in the kitchen is a dull knife. Well, your troubles with dull knives are over. This paring knife is, by far, the sharpest knife I have encountered. I now use this knife for items to dice that I entrusted to my chef's knife. All in all, a great knife for a very reasonable price.

Favorite KNIFE!

I saw this knife review on social media and because I am a big fan of Milk Street products I purchased it. This knife has become my go to and does not disappoint. It fits in my arthritic hand perfectly, has the sharpest edge and sharpens so easily. My husband loved it so much, I had to buy a second knife because we love cooking together.
