This pan works very well...Nonstick after a very short time of use.Nice and solid.Highly recommend if you want a carbon pan for a decent price.
The pan shipped on time and seemed like a very good product. I used it once, washed it per the instructions and completely dried it per the instructions. Went to use it a second time and saw rust stains on the cover it came in. Upon inspection I found there were three small areas on the bottom side of the pan that did not have any coating; I had to look closely to see that there is carbon steel is exposed (unfinished surface); didn't see it when I first unpackaged the pan. I sent photos and a description to Misen "customer service." They said there was no defect and no warranty claim - told be to season it. Right, season the bottom of the pan. Brilliant. I made a second attempt but got the same canned response. Appears they are trained to ensure no warranty claims are processed. There is no number to call to discuss the matter, so I'm stuck with a pan that will start rusting after each use. Bottom line, don't be taken in by their "lifetime warranty" claim. They can deny warranty claims for the lifetime of the product.
Everything as stated and more. Better than Teflon and safer!
Pan came with defects out of the box. I emailed Misen support about 4 days ago, and they still have not returned my email.Instead of waiting on support that was never going to come, I returned it strait to Amazon.I want one of these pans, but I'm not sure if I should order another one.
I got this today, and within 20 minutes, I was using it. I made chili. First, I fried sausage, then I seared stew meat. I followed that with hamburger meat, where I added the chili. Finally, I cleaned out the pan sautéing onions. The pan was perfect nothing ever stuck. Once I was finished, I wiped it clean with a sponge and running water and hung it up in the spot reserved for my favorite pan. I could have paid twice as much and considered it a bargain. The 10-inch version hangs right next to it.
Absolute scam product DO NOT BUY lifetime warranty is not real. I called for replacement due to rusting immediately no matter how well I seasoned the pan first! Kept telling me it was my fault no warranty honored!!!! Photos attached! I have and continue to use le cruset and lodge pans for 35 years so I grew up knowing how to properly bake and season pans like this. I did everything as per instructions however the product rusts completely after every meal this pan is not safe it is total trash and a scam company would not honor any refund I have had this pan less than a month and it looks like it is 100 years old!!!! It is now at the local dump only thing it is good for is metal recycling!!! Total ripoff!
The day after I first used the pan and washed and dried it, there was rust discoloration at the point where the handle connects to the pan. With a little EVOO, a paper towel, and a tooth brush I got rid of the rust. The pan performed as expected. If I see rust again, I will ask for a replacement.
