Nice plates- perfect for what I was looking for

I bought these plates to replace high quality paper plates which we had converted to years ago to get away from heavy porcelain style plates that didn’t align to eating in front of the TV.These plates have worked really well. They are microwaveable and dishwasher safe and more lightweight than traditional casual china- though stronger and heavier than the heavyweight paper plates we used previously.I have been handwashing them for convenience but they went thru the dishwasher well the one time I used the dishwasher.The cost is very reasonable compared to the paper plates. A pack of four plastic plates will likely last for months, if not years, and cost the same as 165 heavyweight single use paper plates.The amount of trash being generated will greatly reduce as well.Very happy with the purchase so far.

Easy care plates

Easy care and no worries if you drop them. Use them for my grandson’s lunch and snack. Perfect size for him. I personally do not like serving on paper plates. This is a better option for me.

Love them

I got tired of spending money on paper plates and it seems even the name brands are just as flimsy as the cheap brands. I hate using dishes for when we have pizza night in front of the TV. My dinner plates are kinda heavy so usually I used paper plates. I figured I'd try these. They are so lightweight I love it. The only drawbacks are you can only wash them on top rack of the dishwasher, can't use them in the microwave with anything greasy or oily and my biggest complaint is they scratch when using knives on them. My girlfriend and he husband were over and we used these for pizza and they were so impressed with them. I might get them a set for their house. I'd still buy them, especially since they are also biodegradable so when they get too messed up to eat off, I won't feel bad throwing them in the trash. Edited to add - It's been over a year and we are still using these. I see a lot of complaints about staining. I admit we only use them for pizza and sandwiches and breakfast food - not for heavy complete meals. I have only put them in the dishwasher on top rack a few times and they were fine. I mostly wash by hand. They are still getting scratched when using knives, however. That to me is the biggest negative. But all in all, still cheaper than buying paper all the time.

Stop using paper plates!

These wheatstraw plates are awesome. We had been using a lot of paper plates and cheap plastic plates for our casual dinners, cookouts, etc. Now we can stop killing trees and adding to the landfill. These plates are perfect. Lightweight but very durable, easy to clean, strong enough to hold a heavy load of food. The size is a good dinner plate size and the rim keeps any liquid or juices from leaking over the edge. They even do great in the microwave, although you may get some slight staining from some sauces if you microwave that. A bleach cleaner seems to remove it well. We highly recommend these.

Consider before buying paper

I have always used either the heavy duty paper or plastic plates when casually entertaining outside but felt guilty throwing all that away afterwards. Saw these online and thought for the price why not give them a try. I love them and so do my guests. The plate size is very generous and the sturdiness of the plate is way better than any paper or disposable plastic version. They are totally fine putting hot food onto and cutting on with a regular (not plastic) knife. I have run them through my dishwasher twice already and they clean up like a normal plate. I love that they are compostable but not sure when and if I will ever need to throw them out! Now my son uses now for everything because they are so easy and lightweight.

Perfect size & light weight.

I bought these for an upcoming "snack night" with friends. Wanted something lighter weight than my normal dishes and reusable. I went with these because I couldn't find square plates like this in this size. I love the speckles through them,not a complete flat black. I cant speak for how they will hold up to use yet,but they seem very sturdy. Happy with my purchase.

Poor quality

If you use a knife to cut anything, it cuts the surface. Also tomato sauce stains the plate. Looked nice but a poor functional rating as a dinner plate. Three months and ready for the trash.
