I like the large size of this Silicone Trivets Mat which makes it versatile in the kitchen to use for the air fryer or hot plates. It works well to protect my granite countertop. I also use it to provide traction for mixing bowl or food processor unit. The silicone material is durable. It is easy to use and clean.
This is great. I use this all the time. Perfect to protect the countertops. I also used it in the fridge if I need to put something hot right away. It's also a good size. It's like large.
So I think I may have had the wrong idea about this product as thought it had some capabilities to help insulate the surface of your kitchen or counter when being used. It's a good price and I thought why not - maybe I was expecting more though. Since it can keep your surface cool using an air fryer I thought it may work with other things.Now - with my air fryer - it does keep your counter from getting super hot but my air fryer doesn't make my counter super hot. What I do like with the air fryer though is it does help to contain any messes and this thing, since it is silicone, is super easy to clean.The size is perfect for an air fryer, or even a frying pan (which it's not made for, I know, I know). I found I actually don't like to use it for my air fryer as it doesn't get super hot. I mistakenly thought we could use this for items that actually do get hot, which, unfortunately it doesn't really work well with (like a frying pan).So not sure what to say - I guess it does keep your counters cool if you use an air fryer but I never had a problem with that. But then you can't use this as something to keep really hot objects on either since it's not super great as an insulator.What I use this for is to put pots on of soups, curries, etc, that have a tendence to make the counter dirty when we have potlucks, or whatever. It seems designed for that. It's okay for something you boil, but not something you are searing like in a frying pan. That actually works really well.So I think this has definite value, I just don't use it for what it was intended. And no, it's not a super insulator but it is great for your pots that have liquids in them to make cleanup a breeze.
Perfect solution for air fryer and Instant Pot lids. Before this silicone trivet, I had to place my Instant Pot and Ninja fryer lid on plates, cutting boards, etc. This mat is amazing for protecting your counter top while allowing any moisture accumulated in the lid to drip into the channels on the mat, preventing watery mess on your counter. Easy, simple and effective!
It was originally designed for a ninja device. I wanted to use it as a general purpose trivet for large items such as a fry pan. Sometimes for dinner I make a meal in a skillet and I use a 12 inch fry pan. Or, if we steam veggies in the microwave my bowls are bigger than a regular trivet.It seemed thin, so I put a glass container of boiling water on the cente rof the trivet, which is the thinnest solid part. I left the container on the trivet for 5 minutes and then took it off. When I moved the trivet the counter top underneath was slightly warm, but not hot.I suspect that people who get this will use it for more than its one intended purpose - I grab it out of the drawer when I have something hot to put on the counter. That is why I took off a point. I'm not sure how easy it would-be to get food spills out of the crevices if something spilt. That may or may not be a fair assessment of the trivet since it was designed for a specific item - you need to be the judge.In sum, I think it is a decent value for the cost and has great versatility. I also liked the size since i can put larger items on it.
This silicone pad was what I was looking for to put under my regular air fryer. We remodeled our kitchen last year, and I wanted to protect the granite countertop from the heat of the air fryer as well as grease that will sometimes leak from it. I think this item would also work well as a trivet or heating pad for a pot or pan. It's thick enough to protect but not so thick that one would have to be concerned about the item leaningto one side.Easy to clean and it looks attractive with our blue influenced kitchen. The only thing I wish is that it didn't slide so easily on the counter (but maybe I cleaned it too well before putting it under the air fryer). It is the perfect size (not too large or small). It is manufactured well and I think it will last.
I didn't realize this was a problem until I started reading reviews about these protectors, after having it under the air fryer for a few weeks now I am very happy to have done that reading, this has saved my counter top from what could have been some discoloration at best or charring at worst. The pad does what its meant to do!
