Perfect for fresh pepper and easy to use
I love fresh-ground pepper and this Mixpresso manual grinder makes it effortless to grind lots at once. The ceramic burr produces a consistent, clean grind that preserves aroma and flavor far better than pre-ground spices. The hand crank is smooth and comfortable, and I appreciate the quiet operation when I’m making breakfast early. The included glass jars are great for storage and look nice on the counter.The only downside is the shape of the glass jar. It’s a little awkward to hold when I’m grinding large quantities, and it doesn’t fit as neatly in my spice drawer as I expected. That minor design quirk hasn’t stopped me from using it every day, but I wish the jar had a more ergonomic profile.Cleanup is simple — the grinder disassembles easily and the small brush that comes with it helps clear out grounds. The adjustable grind selector works well for everything from coarse cracked pepper to finer grinds for sauces. Slow but adequate
Initial impression was favorable on unboxing, but on the first grind the lower grinding disc unscrewed itself & fell into the jar. Fixed that with a couple of wraps of teflon tape around the threads & replaced the adjusting nut with a nylon wing nut (5mm thread). That worked great, no further problems with the adjustment, although the grind is not particularly consistent.Initially the battery managed a total of around 35 minutes total grind time on a fairly fine setting - about 3 to 4 turns of the adjustment nut backed off from a locked up position. Each grind of a full chamber averaged about 5 minutes. The grinder was used daily & all went well for about 10 months, by which time the battery was getting weaker & could no longer hold a full charge. The unit would cut off frequently during use even after a fresh charge. It would recover somewhat after a short rest & continue grinding, but for shorter periods. At 12+ months of use, I am getting no more than 2 chambers ground - with several restarts - before having to recharge the battery. The USB charging port is a bit on the cheap side, needing a few wiggles to make a good connection. The battery is replaceable, but a new battery on Amazon costs around 75% of a whole new unit, so is hardly worth doing.In conclusion, this unit operates well enough but is not up to daily use.

I'm not usually picky, but...
I'm not a picky person, but this product really did dissapoint. I needed it, so I was hoping to either love it, or be okay with it. However I CANT even use this! The first photo shows a large chip out of the ceramic burr. This will cause an uneven grind. The entire purpose of a ceramic burr grinder IS for a consistent grind.. The ceramic arrived to me chipped, lumpy, uneven, and DIRTY! There are brown spots, black residue - some even seems to be molded into the ceramic. I attempted to clean with the included brush, and the bristles began to fall out, and inevitably got caught into the grinder. :( Gettong ready to pack this back up, I also noticed little bits of ceramic grains in the bottom of the glass! (picture 3) This was the final straw. I just wanted to hand grind coffee.. I didn't want bits of ceramic brewing in my grounds. I wanted an even ground for my French press and Chemex, but the uneven ceramic burrs wouldn't allow this. I'm highly dissapointed in the quality of this product. I don't know if I got a product that skipped over quality control, or what. I've never returned an item on Amazon. This will be my first.
