Just what needed for an event
Very useful item. A little hard to pick up one by one.
The napkins are very soft and smooth. I thought that bamboo material will deliver a rough grassy texture which I prefer, but it has very smooth and refined touch, very much like regular napkins. It is absorbent and durable. I feel this smooth refined texture is better to make a large-sized napkins instead of cocktail napkins. Bamboo supports environmental-friendly lifestyle. For designs of cocktails napkins, I would love to see more natural look of bamboo material.
We entertain a lot, and it was bothering me that we were adding plastic to the landfills using disposable plastic plates (I had moved on from paper plates long ago, as they just aren't robust enough). That changed when i discovered the beauty and practicality of fully compostable palm plates. Trying to further reduce my plastic footprint, without sacrificing the quality of the party disposables I use, I deceided to give these bamboo cocktail napkins a try.The naplins come in a brown box, with two packages of 100 napkins separately wrapped in plastic. Based on the pictures, I thought they would be a bit industrial looking--like the color of those cheap brown paper towels that come out of a dispenser in a public restroom, but I was pleasantly surprised in that they are much closer to a cream color than the graish brownish color in the photos. The other detail not visible in the photos is a pattern stamped into the edges of the napkin, which really give them a lot more pizzazz than the pictures would indicate. At 5"x5" they are standard size cocktail napkins that are about the thickness of a 2-ply napkin. Like the listing says, they are absorbant as conventional cocktail napkins, but they're not quite as soft (although softness is not an essential characteristic of a cocktail napkin, and they are no where near as coarse as some cheaper conventional napkins I've used). Most importantly, they don't disintegrate when they're wet. Best of all, they are recyclable and their made by rapid growing highly replaceable bamboo, rather than trees.Given that they are priced in line with the same quantity of conventional napkins, the price to quality ratio for these Morgiana napkins is excellent.
I love bamboo products, both for the softness and sustainability. I ordered the MORGIANA 200-Pack Bamboo Wedding Cocktail Napkins not particularly for a party, but because every meal at home is an event that requires napkins. These napkins are absorbent, sturdy, soft, and elegant. When I spilled water, I wiped it up without the material disintegrating or becoming a mess; they held together really well and were highly absorbent, so I can trust these napkins to maintain their shape and durability. I like the silkiness of the surface, so that even though they might not be super fluffy soft, they are smooth enough to the touch. The soft color also blends in nicely with our decor, as our home features a lot of wood. They look nice and elegant, and I can use them for both regular dining and a party.Oh, I love that they are compostable too, so that I can add them to the compost after use. Since bamboo doesn't require pesticides to grow, I don't mind adding these napkins to my compost; this is an excellent extra feature. Good value for the price, so I plan to purchase more and use these regularly.
Paper napkins are compostable too, but these bamboo napkins are faster to compost and to degrade if given the right conditions.Pros:- Value for money since it comes in a pack of 200.- Decent absorbency but cannot compare to a kitchen towel. I'd rate it 6 on a scale of zero to ten.- Holds its shape despite some rough use. Thick enough for cleaning around the mount.Cons:- None observed so far. Will update if any arise.Overall, I do recommend these napkins for use at large gatherings. It held up pretty well.
