My new favorite knife...and my wife's too!
Cooking in our household isn't just something we do to survive, it's a family affair. We prep together. We cook together. We eat together. My wife's favorite knife is her Santoku knife and after seeing her use hers so much, I knew she needed a second one so I would have to stop washing her current one as much. After some searching, I discovered this one.When it came in, I was impressed with the presentation first and foremost. It came in a nice gift box and came with both a knife sharpener and a knuckle guard. I think that's the right term for it. This is something I could have used earlier in my initial stages of learning how to prep, but is something my son can use when he is a little older. In addition to great presentation, the decoration on the blade of the knife helps it to pop and stand out from other knives we own.In terms of functionality of the knife, it is one of the best knives I have owned. It has good weight to it, and the balance feels spot on. In terms of maneuvering, I feel like it has a great deal to it, and the versatility is second to none. I can prep vegetables, fruit, meat. This knife does it all!My wife was reluctant to give up her favorite Santoku knife, so I used this one a few times. After she saw how much quicker I was performing than she was, she wanted to try the knife. She quickly fell in love with it, and then we had to decide who would get the knife. Of course she won, because she is the better chef...so now I am going to have to buy a second one of these, so we both have one!

Something is off in the balance
This is a good knife for the price. We cook our meals mostly to reduce cost and keep it healthy; but not gourmet or professional by any means. The balance is off with this one, feels a bit heavy and is intimidating (a bit) to use. I have been using this for about a month now. I have other knifes that are of same size/type and they are lighter and more easy to handle than this one.One thing I have to mention is because of the intimidation factor (these are damn sharp and retain edge longer) I tend to use it more gingerly that has resulted in much fewer finger cuts (none for me so far, wife had one in a month). we also clean and put it away in a sleeve (brought separately) right after use as we are scared of it sitting around on the counter or in the sink.so if big knifes scare you...don't by this. It may be good for a professional but not for a daily home cooks.

I bought this knife 2 years ago February 2022. I have to say it's not the cheapest and it's not the most expensive. It's right there in the middle and it's wonderful. I do most of the cooking in my family and this knife is so versatile. Meat, veggies you name it. I am seriously thinking about getting the whole set but this one knife is all I really need. It would definitely be a want and not a need. Hm...so...Happy Birthday to me.

Must try! Great knife
Wonderful knife. Super sharp and nice that it comes with sharpener which is a plus. Easy to handle and Sturdy. Although the sheath is cheap it doesn't effect the knife. Glad we purchased this. Will be looking for other knives from this company.
