Beautiful set. The knives are wonderfully crafted, sharp and handy in the wood block they come in.
Ive ordered 2 sets in 2 years. First set was a gift for my parents, and after a year of use still razor sharp, 2ed set was for me im a fan of the folded steal look and preticular when it comes to knifes that meet high-end quality and affordable. Definitely recommend to friends and family
Knives look awsome but the block was cracked sraight out of the box
Wow. I’m a hard sell and usually don’t waste time writing reviews unless I’m totally impressed or unbelievably disappointed with a product.I started cooking when I was ten years old. I learned how to properly sharpen and hone a knife before I reached puberty. This is absolutely the most functionally amazing knife set I’ve used. Ever. Razor sharp when I received them and I’ve been using them regularly and haven’t needed to sharpen them in about two weeks. If you’re used to the crap they try to pawn off as “quality” in the big-box stores locally, do yourself a favor and look for a flash sale, invest the cost and I’d have to say that I’d guarantee that there is not a chance that you’ll feel any disappointment in these knives. Also, they are just freakin beautiful! I felt not one shred of buyers remorse in purchasing these knives when I opened the box and when I used them, and that’s pretty rare for me. I have high standards in the kitchen and these knives did not disappoint at all. 100% ecstatic with this purchase!
I collect great knives usually by their steel. Having vg-19 steel is fantastic with light Damascus to boot. It is way over most knife sets anywhere in this $150 ,price range.BTW the honey colored wood block matched my kitchen cabinets and my island...I have a few Spyderco knives in vg-10. One retails for $330.00. Ish...Take a good look at this knife set. VG-10 is a great stainless steel that the Japanese invented. I like the steel it retains a great edge, it is a tad harder to sharpen, and has excellent stainless qualities too.Hell of a deal. TOO!
These are great knives. I've had much more expensive knives that weren't as good. I love mine and just bought the same set as a gift for someone else.
We've had these knives for a year in Feb 2025. I purchased them for my wife's birthday. Within the first month she had complained that they were 'cheap knives' and they were not holding up. (which I assured her they were not 'cheap' knives) Spots on the blades started to rust and corrode in small like holes. She threw out the pairing knife within that month. Several other knives have done the same since. Didn't think much about it. Now I', using the knives to entertain an event, and understand her 'complaints' of the knives. The scissors can't even cut paper at this point. I have 30 yr old Fiskars that work better. The scissors have rust/brown 'gunk' that appears every time they are washed and dried due to the poor hardware fastening them together. My wife is an avid cook, always takes good care of her 'kitchen tools'. (OCD) There is no 'must not be taking care of them' as a factor. I've had 10yr old Cuisinart block knives that haven't had these issues. The handles are nice, the large knifes are decent. However, still have the little notches of erosion rust spots starting on almost every blade. With the amount of money I paid for these knives, I'd expect much better. Or replacements of the knives that have failed.
