This thing is big and pretty high quality. The edges are a little rough so I'm going to polish the mount but that's just me being nitpicky since I have the equipment to do that.Keep in mind that these are restaurant tools, they are significantly larger than what you're likely expecting. They are designed for making large batches of product at restaurant scale not typical home production.
Great for straining juices. I make citrus juice in my vitamix aer container, which doesn’t purée the citrus but leaves big chunks of fruit and seed. The larger holes (3mm) in this item strain out the seeds and large chunks, but let through just enough of the pulp to make perfect juice.
As others have noted, this is a big chinois intended for straining large volumes of broth, stock, etc. so pay attention to dimensions before ordering. Seems well made at a reasonable price. Fours stars for now and will revisit after a few uses.
We made applesauce many times, using this strainer and my Grnadma's stirring stick. Not only was the applesauce delicious, but I really loved the fact that my grandkids were hands on 100%. It also sparked some reminiscing with older family members and friends, always a bonus to us as listeners! I love this strainer!
I am very pleased with this strainer. I have used it to make several bottles of jelly and this strainer is what I have been looking for. I highly recommend this if juices and bottles of jelly is what you preserve.
