Holy Heavy-Duty Mats, Batman! GREAT VALUE!
Wow...thought these would be the same old thin mats, compared to all other ones we've tried. NOPE.THICKNESS: Each mat is a little over 2mm thick, which is substantial when compared to any other flexible mat around (we also purchased the Seville Mats of 7, and while those are still weightier and thicker than W**-M*** or T****t--you know the big box stores, folks--those are only 0.5mm thick, if that). Mats are opaque and you cannot see through them.WEIGHT: Each mat is 4.9-5 oz, per my digital food scale.FLEXIBILITY: I'm able to bend them into a tube-shape to funnel foods to a pot, but not without a little resistance, which I like. I cannot bend it into a full circle without really working some muscles, and I would not recommend doing so unless you want it to snap back with food flying everywhere--but who folds their mat into a total circle, anyway? If you are looking for a mat that you can fold like origami, then this is probably not for you. If you are looking for a substantial mat that allows for some flexibility but not a total piece of paper, then you'll probably like this.TEXTURE?: Front of mat (with food logo) has a subtle cross-hatch texture. Not so raised that you are hacking into the mat, but you can definitely feel it with your fingertips. Back of mat is smooth. If you wanted to use both sides of the mat, you very well could, providing you paid attention to what color you were using and what the corresponding food was. The thickness of the mat also makes using both sides of this more viable than other, thinner flexible mats (I've used both sides of a flexible mat before and just ended up cutting through it when one side was scarred). Double value!!SLIPPERY?: I thought the smooth back of the mat would be a problem with sliding around on our polished, solid-surface counters. However, the weight of the mat gives it more stability than the typical flexible board. I have not had a problem with excessive movement. It is not a butcher-block island, but no flexible cutting board is. Suffice to say I have not injured myself or had food fly off the counter, which is more valuable to me than saving 3 cents with W**-M**t's cheap mats and lopping off a finger.SIZE: Fairly true to size, except it is 12x15.25" with very slightly more rounded corners than the photo represents. Edges have a bit of a finish to them and are not sharp plastic. Nice.OVERALL: SURPRISING QUALITY! When they arrived, I could not believe this was the price for these mats. They arrived fully wrapped with a foam backer board. Gorgeous. Weighty. Practical. And at this price, they will get much more use per penny than any other flexible board we've used, ever. EVER. Value is definitely there. Definitely a "giftable" item, for any cook and great for families doing multiple prep together to get dinner done fast (putting that tween to work chopping veg on one board, hubby to shredding/slicing cheese on another board, while you're prepping the chicken on a third board? Priceless!). Bought two sets, one to keep and one to give as a gift, but I just might keep 'em both!Would definitely buy again, especially at under $10 for a set of 6. In fact, returned today to buy a set for a family member who just moved to a condo with limited space and uses flexible boards--because flexible boards fit anywhere but GOOD flexible boards are hard to find. Excellent buy!

Great cutting board. BPA safe Food grade cutting boards
I just love these cutting boards. I’ve been using them everyday and you can’t even see the cut marks. The surface is pretty durable and have a little thickness to them. They are easy to clean and easy to use. They are not flimsy, but they are still bendable to fold to put cut foods in bowls or cookware. I like that they don’t curl up like other plastic cutting boards. They are also BPA free and are dishwasher safe. The have a nice finish to them (see photos). These are like professional grade cutting boards. Made from food grade plastics. This is the main reason for buying them. I looked at others, but for the safety and price, you can’t go wrong. I love the colors and characters to match each type of foods to cut. (vegetables, fish, beef and poultry) This way there is no cross contamination, especially with poultry and vegetables. These are great to show young adults how to not cross contaminate their foods. I would buy an extra set for a standby. Great gift ideal and nice to use by the barbecue this summer.

Good, sturdy product
I had bought some flexible cutting boards way back when from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Although a good size, they were quite flexible, which made it easy to bend them into U shape and slide the food into the bowl, but on the other hand, when picked up one-handed they would flop and the food ended up on counter. When they wore out, I ordered what appeared to be a similar product through Amazon, but they were smaller and flimsier than the ones I had! These are just the opposite: large and on the sturdy size. It is harder to bend them into U-shape (though still possible), but stiff enough that they don't flop over under the weight of the food when picked up one handed. They are color- and icon-coded for different foods, which I simply ignore. Overall a good product and a very good value for the price.

These are very nice flexible cutting boards
These are very nice flexible cutting boards. The color coded with pictures do help a lot when you are cooking and have to cut several different things and if you don't want to contaminate the other food you are cutting like vegetables, fruits, breads, cheeses and stuff after cutting meat. You can lay out the boards in different locations on the counter or table. They flex nicely to pour the cut product into a bowl, pan or pot. They are dishwasher safe. After using them a few times, they still look new. I purchased the 4 piece set. There is also a 6 piece set you can purchase with 2 more cutting boards. New Star Foodservice 42627 Flexible Cutting Board, 12-Inch by 15-Inch, Assorted Colors, Set of 6 as well as some other ones in different combinations as a set. I purchased the 4 piece set for the meats and vegetables. I did not see myself needing the bread and dairy ones in the 6 piece set since I don't really cut bread loaves much or cut blocks of cheese. But, they can be useful if you need them. I definitely recommend these because of the ease of use and cleaning, the flexible board to move and deliver the cut food pieces, the durability and the fun factor with the colors and the picture coding on them. Also, the price is nice. If later they become old and in need of replacement, my investment in them paid was well paid back in return from usage and replacing them would not cost very much. But, so far so good. They are doing the job and making things easier and fun. They can also be used as a good teaching piece in the kitchen if you are cooking with your kids teaching them about food contamination. And, also a good reminder for yourself to help you pay attention especially when the kitchen gets a little hectic.
