Works well with deep dish pan
restaurant quality
Bought these for work. Strong material. Well built. Steal parts.
This product is lightweight and riveted on the sides to hold all 3 stainless steel pieces together. The product only "locks" if enough pressure is applied by squeezing the handles. There is no locking mechanism, which could be an issue for anyone that suffers from arthritis. What's really puzzling is the origins of this product. This gripper is Made in China according to the Everware sticker (model / part # EVPPG-D ???) underneath the New Star Foodservice sticker I peeled off. That being said, I'm not sure the company that sells this product also manufactures this product but that's a common practice in the food service industry. This minor observation aside, I tested this on an empty 8" pizza pan and this gripper should work as advertised. My initial impression is this could hold up to commercial use however i'm only using this for homemade Chicago style deep dish pizza. I recommend this product.
This works great for lifting a heavy deep dish pizza pan. I haven't had any problems with it after using it a dozen times or so. Does just as it is supposed to, and much cheaper than the pair I bought years ago when I was making deep dish pizza weekly (It's the one food I miss from Chicago living out on the east coast).
Made things very easy to put in/out of oven
Not strong enough for deep dish pizza
