This is a great deal on six of these
This is a great deal on six of these. They may be made with the intent of serving pizza on, and I'm sure they would do a fine job of it. But I've discovered (and continue to discover) many more uses for them.Think about it as a durable, sturdy, heat-proof round thing.I bought these originally for camping — to serve as either as a lightweight plate, or better yet, a sturdy paper-plate holder — a standard cheap-o flimsy paper plate fits on one of these nicely and provides a stable fail-proof foundation. You can also use them as warming plates over a stove or fire. Wrapped in a bit of aluminum foil, so can use them as serving platters without having any washing up to do.I also use one under my little wood burning camp stove so that I can use it on top of a wooden picnic table without fear of burning or scorching the wooden table top. Again, wrap it in a piece of aluminum foil to avoid having to wash soot off of them.I was soldering the other day and used one of these as a place to rest my soldering iron on so I wouldn't burn the counter. They are tough and pretty indestructible. I just toss them in the dishwasher and they haven't been any worse for wear as a result. I'm not concerned with how shiny they stay and won't mind if they get dented and beaten up.At this smaller size, they are VERY sturdy. Sure, you could probably bend one in half if you really wanted to, but you're not going to find them accidentally damaged with normal use. I can see though that the larger sizes will suffer from the outside beaded edge not giving them the same structural strength if they are made from the same gauge aluminum.I'm sure I'll find other uses, and for the money, they can't be beat.
