This was an impulse buy for me. I have the name brand probe, but I bought this item because I often put more than 1 meat on my WSM.As others have remarked, the simplicity of the software and the ease of use is remarkable. They’re very accurate and IMO do a better job responding to ambient temp than the name brand probes do.The software is nowhere near as sophisticated as the name brand probes so it won’t tell you the “estimated time remaining” on your cook, nor does it have a fancy iCloud to record your notes for the cook for posterity but it doesn’t claim to. It has a nice Bluetooth range so that’s a plus.I’ve used these probes about a half dozen times with no problems. If you need a probe to hold your hand and tell you how long the cook will take, spend the extra money on the name brand probe. If you don’t, then I’d say the simplicity and reliability (so far) of these probes are a great buy at this price point.

Stopped working in less than 6 months

The probe’s stopped connecting to the base after the 5th use. This makes them unusable. There doesn’t seem to be any warranty or available support.

Excellent wireless dual probe!

I am thoroughly impressed with this dual probe thermometer. Through my testing, I was comparing this directly to a better-known brand name (also with dual wireless probes). As far as initial testing, this new probe blows my old one out of the water.1. Fit and finish is excellent. The digital display is inset flush into a bamboo housing. The housing has no rough spots in the finish. The back side has a magnetic kickstand and an access panel for what I am assuming is the rechargeable battery pack. The usb-c charging port is on the left side of the base. The only negative I can see is that the display is very shiny; it looks beautiful but it will get scratched up over time with use.2. The digital display has touch sensitive controls that are very responsive. The display turns on when the first probe is removed. The base unit can be controlled from the display without the need for a mobile app in that you can set the target temp for each probe. The display shows the battery life of the probes and receiver, the probe connection strength, as well as the meat and ambient temps.3. Speed and distance. Unlike my older ‘brand name’s probe, this device immediately registers the probes when they are removed from the receiver base. The connection between the probes and the base unit are significantly stronger and I was able to walk around my house with the base unit without it dropping connection to the probes. My old probes would lose connection if more than 3 feet away. This to me is by far the best feature since I can now leave the base unit in the house with the probes in my outdoor grills and smokers. Another improvement is how quickly the temps update every couple seconds.4. Accuracy: I MacGuyver’d a rig with some chopsticks and rubber bands to test the accuracy of these probes. They consistently stayed within 1 degrees of each other and always settled at the same temp in all scenarios. The same is true for the ambient temps. I ran a boiling water, room temperature and fish tank test with third thermometer (known to be accurate) as a control. In all scenarios, all three probes stayed within a degree of each other.5. The App: The Probe Plus app gives you the basics. You can choose you meat and level of ‘doneness’ as well as setting your own custom temps. You can also record you cook session for future reference. The only downside I found it that it lacks an alert for ambient temp drops which is nice to have if you use charcoal. The interface is very nice and I appreciate it’s simplicity.The only thing left to test is the battery life. I had the probes off the base for over an hour and did not see a drop in the battery indicator bars so I will have to report back once I have completed a longer cook session.

Love how durable and simple these are to use. Very accurate in reading the temps, grilled food comes out almost to perfection. Very easy to clean with a long battery life. Connectivity is excellent so I don’t have to be at the grill all the time, now I have time to entertain guests. Would make a great gift for those who enjoy grilling.
