Great quality at any price
We recently bought a new solid wood table and wanted to use it without a table cloth. I looked online for leather place mats and almost bought some from a different manufacturer for twice the price. I'm glad I didn't, because these are awesome! I bought two sets of 4 in black. They look beautiful, they're a good size (big enough, but I can still fit 3 place settings on each side of my rectangular table), and they're easy to clean with a damp sponge and leather cleaner every once in a while. Coasters are included. I hadn't even thought about coasters, but I'm glad now that I have them because I don't want wine glass stains on my table. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous and practical placemats
After going through several sets of the cork-backed hardboard placemats (Pimpernel brand, for example), I decided we needed something more durable that would (a) protect the table from warm dinner plates; (b) survive being shoved into a drawer 3 times a day; and (c) be easily cleaned. Bonus points for good looking with simple/modern style. These have a really nice "hand" (feel and weight), and the dark brown color looks great on our natural cherry table. More to the point, they are *flat* so dishes and bowls don't "rock" on them like they do with other types of (usually synthetic) leather-like placemats. So far they have cleaned up easily with a damp cloth. They came packaged in a natural cotton sleeve. They have the typical odor that I associate with freshly tanned leather (old New England, anyone?), but it is faint, I expect it to fade quickly, you have to put your nose right up to it to get that scent, and in any case I like it. The coasters are equally gorgeous, but don't have the decorative stitching along the edge. Very happy with these. I think they'd make a nice wedding gift or housewarming gift. Worth the price.

Perfect!
We just bought a brand new table for our kitchen and it was expensive so I didn't want to buy cheap placemats for my husband to ruin (like the rest of our placemats) with Frank's sauce! I grew tired of buying set after set and decided this splurge is justified and it is! After 3 months of daily use, they look as good as new and are easy to clean (follow specific directions). I was surprised by how much my husband likes them and didn't think I spent "too" much! lol I'm glad I decided on the larger set. I would've regretted it, otherwise. Our kitchen table is 54" long and sits 6 comfortably.

Adds the extra touch to a perfect table
This was a give given to our friends who has everything. They use place mats every day, so I wanted something really different for them. They absolutely loved the set and the coasters. I bought a couple of sets of these. While the look is nice, the are really difficult to clean. Usually Windex is not enough as they tend to get white stains in the crevice's of the textured surface. Mine are black.
