I really like these pie tins. It’s perfect for all the different things they get used for. Well worth the price!Make sure you put a cookie sheet under the full tins after filed with whatever tasty baked goodness you are making. While these are very sturdy for disposable pie pans they are still flimsy compared to non disposable. The pies I made baked evenly and the only problem I ran into was moving the pies around because the pie tins are again disposable so had to be handled more carefully as to not cause massive cracks in the crusts. Everyone enjoyed the pies.My family also uses these for different craft activities and the sides of the pans work really well to keep the small stuff from rolling everywhere.
I like disposable Aluminum pie pans because I don't have to get them back from those I give pie to. As you might suspect, I like to make and give pies to people: fruit pies, Russian Vegetable pies (yum - look up the recipe) and Chicken Pot pies. They're good for making brownies in as well. Be creative!I usually use a 10 inch pie plate, and since these are nine-inch pie plates. I have a little bit left over. All that means is that I take the extra pie crust and make some pastries with the extra fillings. Nothing gets wasted. Plus, I have been piling up the fillings a bit higher than usual, so the people who eat it aren't missing much, either. One thing I don't particularly like about disposable pie pans it that I often cut through them when portioning out the pie. I won't say that hasn't happened with these pies (because it has), but the pie bottoms are thick enough that it's not a real problem. As always with a disposable pan I cook it with a cookie sheet under it and lift it with the cookie sheet while the pie is still hot. The pie pan is not strong enough to securely lift it from the edges.I like it, and even though I've made nearly a dozen pies with these, I still have LOTS left, which is even better!
I've been involved in my community's pie sale for 14 years. I've used a lot of aluminum pie plates. These aren't heavy duty, but they aren't flimsy, either. These were an excellent product for their price and I would purchase again.
Great item!
Inconsistent sizing: In the past, I’ve ordered these pans and used them for baking pies. I love the size and they have decent durability. However, on this order, the pans came in a completely different size. Previously the pan had a base of 8 3/4 inches with the top rim of 9 5/8 inches. The pans I ordered this year ( same order, same pans) and came with a 7 inch base, and a 9 inch rim. I’m disappointed that they are not the same or correct size.
These work just fine for me
