Family fondue fun!
This is a nice fondue set! We made chocolate dipped marshmallows, pretzels, and strawberries! The melting bowl worked perfectly and was easy to clean. Everyone enjoyed making and eating yummy treats! Can’t wait until our next party!

Easy to use
My 6 year old granddaughter wanted to try fondue, so I bought this one. I'm pretty sure the one I received was a return, but it works and not worth the trouble of sending it back. It's easy to clean and it's cute- the surrounding trays allowing for several different types of foods to dip. She loved having the long forks to dip the food or "fish out" the ones that fell off the fork into the chocolate or cheese! I melted the chocolate in the microwave and put it in the fondue pot because, at 6, she got impatient while waiting for it to heat/melt the chocolate. It takes a while for it to melt. We did our chocolate fondue with fruits, cake squares and marshmallows and the cheese fondue with bread cubes, pretzels, and some meats and veggies. She loved both (the chocolate being her favorite) and decided we needed to have fondue at all our family events, lol!

Valentine Dreams

Mid, with what I consider pretty big design flaws...
I've used it twice now for fondue, once was at New Year, the other was at Valentine. It's a very easy to use, easy to clean device. It has three parts (not counting the forks): a metal bowl for the fondue, the heating tray which has three settings (off, warm, and melt), and a plastic tray ring for the things you have to dip. The metal bowl has started warping on the bottom after only two uses, it's still usable, but it sits and heats unevenly on the heating platform. I'm thinking a ceramic bowl would work better, though might take longer to warm up. There's nothing wrong with the heating tray, it works just as it's supposed to, maybe too well considering the melting bowl becoming warped. Personally the tray is an unnecessary extra that adds nothing to the design. I'd have preferred a place to keep the forks than a place to keep things to dip. The forks fit in the tray, but it's a little awkward as the trays are semicircular in shape and the forks are straight. The tray also extends out over the top of the temperature control for the warming tray, which impedes access when you need to reduce the heat or turn off the plate. An additional flaw in this design is the lightweight quality. Nothing has any weight to it. It slides around easily even when full of hot melted chocolate or cheese, and the tray, even when loaded with dipping items like fruit or veggies easily flips up, especially when trying to get to the heating controls. The try, is really in the way... At New Year, we never even put the fruit out of the fruit tray we bought into the fondue pot's tray, we just kept our chocolaty forks there to have a place where they wouldn't get chocolate everywhere, at Valentine's I put chips in the tray to dip in the cheese, but it doesn't hold very much. Ultimately, it's a fun group item, and I'll probably use it until the bowl gets too warped to even heat unevenly, but I'm gonna replace it with a more heavy duty pot eventually. It serves its purpose, but if you can afford a more advanced pot, get one.
