Quality crab crackers, opinion on the style may vary
This review is coming from a house full of people who love to eat crab, and do it often. In summary, my family has mixed feelings about these crab crackers, but they are generally a good purchase.The thing that had me interested in these crackers initially was that they are made of stainless steel and allegedly resistant to corrosion and rusting. As the person who does the dishes 99.9% of the time, handwashing is not really my jam. So the first thing I had to determine was if these would rust in the dishwasher. After washing several times, I see no sign of rusting or oxidation. I feel somewhat confident, saying these will not rust.When it comes to usability, that’s when opinions vary. My wife found them to be too slippery. She said they slide when she’s trying to crack her crab legs. Whereas me and my son found them to be quite comfortable and precise. I prefer the type of pick tools that come with this set over others that I’ve used, however, I find the pick to be a little too large for many of the crab legs that we eat. We generally eat Alaskan crab legs by the way. My wife does not like these type of pick tools, she prefers another set that we use from time to time that has a hook at the end. Thinking about the type of crabs that someone might eat, I think these pick tools would be best for larger crabs, and probably not ideal for smaller crabs. That’s probably also true of the crackers.I think the asking price is just about right for something like this. I’ve paid more in the past and been disappointed, because the crackers usually oxidize or rust at the hinge. That hasn’t happened with this set and because of that I think it’s a really fair price. I highly recommend these to any crab connoisseur. Five out of five stars.

Great Nutcracker, but not for Pistachios
I wanted this nutcracker for pistachios, but it is too big. Be careful when using the nutcracker. I pinched my finger when cracking nuts when using the upper teeth. Overall, it is a great product.

Great crab tools

They feel a little lightweight, but they’re thick and sturdy where it counts. The two hole sizes make it easy to switch between claws and legs and work equally well for king crab and snow crab. The hinge is well made and opens and closes smoothly.The included little forks are great for getting all the bits out of the shell. Sometimes I can stab a chunk and pull it right out and other times I just have to push it through to the other end. Ok, so my technique could probably use some work, but there are a few different ends on these to help me out.The handles have a nice grip that doesn’t slip, even though my hands are always messy from crab and butter. This is such a nice feature compared to the all metal design I’m used to. The coating hasn’t come off at all. I’ve only used them a few times since I can’t afford crab every day! But they’ve held up great so far and go through the dishwasher with no problem.For the price, this is a solid set. Everything works the way it should and I have zero complaints.

I don't recommend for pecans
Not sure what I was expecting overall, but these tools don't function well for average pecans. I was expecting more tension in the pliers but these are loose and flimsy. It's just not a good grip. We have several pounds of cracked pecans and it was a very long process because the fit was awkward trying to position each pecan to crack it further. These 2-pack tools are obviously for larger nuts like walnuts and I would be doubtful of the durability with a walnut or Brazil nut

Perfect for tree nuts and crabs
My son crabs for a restaurant so we eat ton of crabs and lobster when in season and we also have 4 pecan trees in our yard so we harvest those a few weeks out of the year. I have several other sets and this set falls in the middle when it comes to size and weight. These are actually my favorite ones because of the size of the grip. Having RA in my hands things like that matter. They had no trouble cracking pecans, hazelnuts and other trees nuts. The picks worked well although I would like some kind of grip on the middle of them and it seemed like they might bend if pushed hard enough but they did get the job done. These nutcrackers also made short work of the crabs as well. Both sizes were used depending on legs or claws. We don't like to waste any meat so the picks were especially useful to push and pull everything out of the shell. I ran mine threw the dishwasher with no problem. It's a decent price for a nice set of nut-crab crackers.

Less pinching?
They look good. These certainly seem much safer and more comfortable to use than the thin ones I previously borrowed from dad, those always pinch my hands, these have much nicer handles, should provide protection from pinching.I haven't tried these just yet, but I got a whole bag of hazelnuts to crack open from the holiday clearance bin, so I will be giving these a good workout soon. Will update with how that goes.Only one of these is in the picture, it also came with a second cracker with red handles.These are my first impressions of the product, updates upon the testing coming soon.They seem like they will be easy to use, durable, and functioning.
