I really like these nutcrackers. They work very well. I love Brazilian nuts but they are so hard to crack open with the old style nutcrackers and they always break in pieces. With these nutcrackers the Brazilian nut cracks completely open and you have a whole Brazilian nut.
Review of nut cracker set. Our family uses these for English walnuts and both styles of cracker in this set work great for that purpose. Excellent value for the price.
Seafood/nut cracker tool has a spring to automatically spring open after cracking. Only one in this category :D

Only works on larger nuts...walnut, pecan and large almonds...no good for hazelnuts.
I got this set because we need something for lobster and crabs that wouldn't break all the time. This set is defintely better made than the usual aluminum nutcrackers. Usually, they break along the handle, but this set is heavier than the ones I usually get and seems much better, all around really. The usual nutcracker with two arms does work well for shellfish, and so do the picks. Pretty much like what you might get to use in a restaurant. The other larger tool, I was not familiar with. And truthfully, it seems like less useful for crab maybe the conical area is so large. It would work for a lobster claw however. I did test this tool with a chest nut and it cracked it wide apart. YOu can actually apply a lot of pressure onto the cone and it won't slip from the tool, which is great. All in all, value wise, I think it is a good set to have especially if you eat nuts or shellfish regularly.
