I purchased these bags instead of cheese cloth to strain yogurt into labneh. They worked okay however it was more difficult to remove the labneh than when I used the cheese cloth. It would most likely work with other food straining. The bag holds about 3/4 gallons and has a draw string closure. The mesh is very fine and is tasteless and odorless.

Best way to drain soft cheese curds.

Initially very skeptical about how this simple bag would work, but pleasantly surprised not only at how well it worked but how easy it was to make ricotta using it. I had previously used an expensive fine mesh yogurt strainer numerous times but longed to find a better way, using less time to drain the whey. Using this bag, not only was I able to drain the whey but could in fact gently wring the curds out. This shorted the wait time greatly by not having to wait for the "drip, drip". No harm to the curds either. The curds did not clung to the bag like cheesecloth and and so easily rinsed away. I'm convinced that this is how I will make ricotta going forward, and without spending a whole lot of money either.

Hard to clean

I’ve been using these bags for some months now. They work good and they’re sturdy but hard to clean. I’ve noticed that food particles get stuck in the seam and even though it’s labeled as “reusable” I had to throw one away after using it for watermelon juice.I may try a different brand next time.
