It is a lighter weight but I had no issues with apricot pits. You must set it correctly for what you're working with and let the machine do the work. Otherwise I would easily break this too. Mind the adjustable bolt as it tends to move between cracking.
Really like this nutcracker - did a great job on walnuts over Christmas. Easy for my grandson to use. Well made.

NOT HEAVY DUTY,I cracked ONE walnut,,,,on the next one the handle broke off... This might be good for cracking peanuts..But not for anything harder..What a P.O.S....What a waste of time for everyone involved in the making and shipping of this NOT heavy duty nut cracker.
This heavy-duty nutcracker is a powerhouse! It handles even the toughest shells with almost no effort. Solid construction, comfortable grip, and super reliable. Definitely worth the purchase.
Works great on mid-to-larger nuts. But on hazelnuts, the length of travel between the cracking surfaces is not enough. But a good workaround is to line up 2 hazelnuts and one will crack the other. The base should also be heavier. Some day I might put it on a slab of oak. Quality? Pretty good, i.e. not bad. But I have very high mechanical quality standards. Most folks will think it is superb. Nah. but it's okay. Overall, ya, glad I bought it but not "over the moon."
Much easier to use than the handheld versions. Sturdy and efficient. Definitely suited our needs in cracking a few pounds of fresh pecans.
