Great additions to the holidays! It kept our mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts very warm and so easy to use! Very easy to clean and figure out how to use. Solid value for the price too! I love that it rolls up and doesn’t take a lot of room.
I entertain a lot, but I have a small kitchen and only one oven so making many dishes and keeping them warm has always been a challenge. This warming mat was the perfect solution. It keeps the food warm as I make other dishes. I also use it when I have parties and people eat at different times. The clean up is very easy. I appreciate the ridges on the bottom as it has not damaged my granite countertops. The length of the mat can hold three or four large dishes. After looking at many different mats, this was the perfect size at it longer than most. The mat rolls us for easy storage. Overall this a great buy.
Such a great buy! Bought one for a friendsmas party and I was so satisfied I bought another for my family Christmas party. Heats up evenly and worked perfectly! Kept all the food nice and warm. So easy to use and compact when not in use. Family members were so impressed with it they bought a few for themselves! Will definitely buy more!
Wow this is a great xXL food mat! If you are buying this to heat up cold food. Look elsewhere. It isn’t designed for that. Unless you’re using a low temp to proof bread for rising. This pad is excellent for keeping hot foods hot throughout a long meal so things don’t get cold by the time somebody goes back for seconds or you only have so much oven space and you need to heat a couple of dishes at a time and can place ones just out of oven or off stove top onto this preheated mat. They will stay piping hot if temp set at least 190°F. I would suggest if you have a fragile counter or not sure about your counter or going to put the mat on boiling temperature of 212°F that you put a heavy towel underneath the mat just to add a little layer of insulation. I have used for several hours on 212 without any problems but then I have thick granite countertops. I would never put porcelain or fine china dishes at a high temperature above 175 range. They’re not designed to take that kind of heat but could tolerate a medium setting. If using on a wooden table, make sure there’s some kind of pad underneath to protect the wood not only does the heat damage it but the humidity from the moisture of food can ruin the finish. If used correctly this is a wonderful addition to large family gatherings and parties. The size is really good. We had four 9 x 13 casseroles turned sideways across it and had a little bit of space left over. I have two of these one that I keep at the higher end for oven proof, dishes, and one at lower temperature for porcelain dishes. Yes it does have feet to keep it off the counter surface or the table surface but heat is still going to build up under there so protect if necessary the surface it’s on.
Overall, I am very pleased with this food warming mat! It does its job, and fits quite a bit on it. I did follow a few recommendations from previous reviews on also using a heat resistant mat underneath the warming mat, and I’m so happy that I did! The countertop was kept cool! I gave the mat four stars because the heat is not consistent across the mat. There is a hot spot in the center. Also, the temperatures did end up higher than what you set it to. I started at 122, and I kept it like that for 6 hours. The ranges on my digital thermometer were from 122-126. I then changed it to 140, and I was getting temperatures from 150-157. Much higher than 140…. The higher temperatures might be concerning if you’re using the mat at temperatures of 172, or 212. My ceramic dishes did consistently stay at a lower temperature than the mat, so if you’re concerned about keeping food at precise temperatures, this mat will not do that for you. It’s perfect for keeping warm, but be aware that the temperatures get higher than what you set them to, especially in the center of the mat. The mat is durable, I did not see any issues with that (yet). The silicone is easy to wipe, and it’s easy to roll up and put away. I’m happy with this mat, and I’m looking forward to using it at my next event!
Wonderful product. Used for Thanksgiving and then a birthday breakfast. Large space, adjustable temperatures, lays flat with "feet" to keep the mat up and not directly on the flat surface so no marring or damage to table/counters. Kept the food hot, does not slide around. Rolls easily to put into dust bag after use.
I bought this for an outdoor party in December. I tested it inside before taking it out there. The high setting made the countertop hot, but the lower ones were fine due to some silicone fins on the bottom of the mat. It keeps dishes at a great temperature for serving, even outdoors. Made all the difference for our outdoor potluck. Easy to wipe down. Easy to store. I am keeping this for future events. Very happy.
