I owned the smaller version and decided to upgrade to this one. Not disappointed. Feels sturdier, has more options, and works smoothly. Still easy to use and feels safer than older style mandolines. A solid upgrade if you already liked the original.
Love this slicer! My weekly meal prep was taking such a long time because my hands hurt curging all our produce. This is saving me time and is so much easier on my hands. So far we have used it for fruits and veggies, even did well on tomatoes, cheese and chicken sausages. It’s done great on all of it! Though the sausage did get stuck a little.
Update: The seller has contacted me and was very helpful in making things right. I appreciate a good seller like that.Update: After using the mandolin chopper 3 times and washing as the instructions say, the container that sits under it has developed cracks in multiple places. I believe that over time it will just continue to deteriorate. The chopper still looks good, but I imagine the shoot will also start cracking eventually since it looks to be make from the same see through plastic.Original review: I've been wanting a mandolin but I'm always hesitant to get one for fear of cutting myself. This once for all is exactly what I've been looking for. It does what a mandolins does but in such a safer way. I'm not afraid to use it and cleaning it is pretty easy. It takes seconds to chop literally anything. It's a huge time saver!
This is the easiest and the best mandoline slicer I have ever owned. It is perfect for people with weak hands (as in elderly) as you can use your weight (if needed) to cut or slice and it is spring loaded back to up position after every cut. Comes apart easily for cleaning and your fingers never get near the blade
Love this mandoline! Used it for the first time yesterday to make home made potato chips. It is easy to assemble, slices smoothly with very little effort and was easy to take apart and clean. All the slices were very uniform which was fantastic compared to my previous slicer where I never knew what the thickness was going to be. It even has suction cups on the legs and body to prevent it from sliding when you are slicing. It seems to have sturdy construction that will last many years. Overall glad I took the chance and purchased.
First let me say that I rarely write a review, good or bad, I just don't do it. This Mandoline is so wonderful I just had to let everyone know!I ordered it because I'd used a grader to slice potatoes and, as always, sliced my finger. That angered me so I went looking for a mandoline. After seeing how simple this one was to work I decided to buy it to see if it was as good as the reviews said.This is better than any of the reviews said. I just sliced 5 cups of apples in no time and my hand didn't come close to the blade. Just for the heck of it I turned the dials and yep, it did everything advertised. It's worth far more that the actual cost!Cleaning it is simple as it comes apart easily and because it folds up I was able to store it in a drawer.This would make a great gift and in fact, I'm planning on buying another one for my daughter.
