This roll of material is exactly 24-inches wide and it is said that the product is twenty-four (24) feet long. The 24-inch width makes this product perfect for cutting and fitting exactly into my new toolbox drawers and as a cover for the open area in the top of the new toolbox. I am hoping that the use of this product in the top of the new toolbox will prevent the painted metal surface from getting scratched over its life. Best of all, this material is RED, very RED, and it will go great with my toolbox.This product is 3mm thick (approximately ⅛ of an inch) and it has a resilient, cushioned feel to it. So, in theory, it can prevent damage to the toolbox drawer’s surface and to the tools themselves. The color of the material is a bright red color and the top surface, the surface that will be toward the tools or will be the work surface, has a fine grid line lightly embossed into the surface. The bottom surface, the surface towards the metal drawer or the underlying bench surface, has a square bumpy pattern deeply embossed into the material. This pattern provides a cushioning effect between the foamed rubber material and the metal surface.Information on the product’s Amazon page says that this product is a PVC rubber material. This should make the product reasonably resistant to oil, grease, and some chemicals that might be present on tools placed on the material. The material will definitely be waterproof. I am hoping to begin planning the cutting of the material soon to fit into my new toolbox. The material should be easy to cut, but I want to make sure that each and every piece is cut accurately. So, I will be doing measurements, creating drawings, and measuring again several times before cutting anything. I do like this product very much.

Using this liner keeps your tools and tool box protected from scratches and keeps them quiet when dropped. Also, since the mat the mat is rubbery, it has a non-slip surface that grips tools your tools, keeping them in place. The mat measures 2ft x 24ft and is 4mm thick. If you are like me, I don’t really know how thick 5mm is, so in inches it is about ¼” thick. The rubber mat is easy to cut with either heavy scissors or razor knife. It offers a soft cushion and provides grip so things don’t move around or get scratched. The mat is also oil and grease resistant, but you should wipe it up as soon as possible. Better than expected...
The color is bright and the red looks very good on a black tool box. Makes for a very professional look and the material is better than expected. I measured the thickness and it tested out thicker than 1/8th inch. See pic's. I like to put the diamond pattern up when used on top of the tool box or work bench because the diamond pattern just looks better. Very resistant to oils and other lubricants but not meant to be resistant to solvents or open flames. Also, not heat resistant to soldering irons, or grinding sparks.
