These made a great gift for my parents at Christmas time. They wasted no time in testing them out and used them on king crab legs a few days later. They are great quality and heavy duty; they had no issues using them to Crack open the shells. The container it comes with is great for keeping them all in one place, and it's flat so it slides right under the silverware drawer for easy storage. Good value !
The Crackers came in a nice organized box. The Crackers are light weight and small compaired to other Crab crackers of this style. They worked just OK for Dugenest Crab but would be afried to crack a Red Rock Crab front Claw. I would not buy them again, I would buy a set made of Stainless Steel.
Excellent! Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to use these yet, but I have gone to a lobster boil before and these are really all the food-specific tools you need: A cracker to open hard shells with and a pick to get the meat out.These are not heavyweight, which is probably for the best as you will be putting these down and taking them up and maneuvering with them multiple times in their use, and having a heavy one may make that a chore. The hinges don't jiggle and they open and close pretty easily.They come displayed in a molded form, within a cardboard box which is in a plastic cover with an external layer of bubble wrap, and the whole thing is in the white box, taped shut. (It would make a nice gift if the intended recipient would find the tools therein useful for their needs.)Overall, a perfect choice.
We bought these as a gift for someone in another state so have not seen them in person, but I was impressed with the packaging and the recipients seemed happy with them.

The crab or lobster crackers are made of lightweight metal and hollowed out where possible to save on weight. They are not heavy at all. They have a hinge at the top that easily allows them to open and close. It makes it a lot easier to get them open to put around a crab leg since you don't have to force them open. Are strong enough to crack the crab legs or lobster without breaking or damaging the hinge. I had no problem cracking open crab legs.The pickers are straightforward round bodied lengths a metal with a flat end and a fork on the other end. I think my only criticism would be that the burrs on the fork of the picker were not cleaned off very well so there are some rough edges. That can lead to cutting your lips or your tongue if you put the fork portion in your mouth. For that reason, I took off one star as that can be pretty dangerous.The box that comes in is a standard cardboard box with a dense foam mat on the inside where everything is cut out and everything fits perfectly. You can easily reuse the box year after year as long as you dry the items off before you put them back in.Overall, It's not a bad set. If they clean the burrs off of the fork better then it would be five stars. The price is also not incredibly high, at around $35 for the set. I don't know if I would buy this particular set again because of the burrs on the fork part of the pickers but everything else was just fine.
